ABRASIVE BLAST SYSTEM FOR CONTINUOUS STRIP
Guyson Corporation has developed a pass-through blasting machine for gritblast descaling and surface preparation of band saw blades and continuous strip. The custom automated blast system is capable
of producing a uniform condition on all surfaces of the material.
Overall dimensions of the blast cabinet are 72" H x 96" W x 48" D (183 x 244 x 122 cm). The ends of the blast cabinet have entry and exit ports with guides. A vestibule at entry and exit isolates dust and noise in the blasting chamber and houses blow-off jets on the exit side. The blast machine has an extra wide swing-out front door to allow access to the blast enclosure for inspection, adjustment and maintenance.
Inside the rubber-lined cabinet, eight suction-blast guns are rigidly mounted on multi-adjustable telescoping brackets that allow positioning at the correct angles and distances for complete 360-degree coverage of the work. When narrow strip is to be processed, extra guns can easily be turned off to conserve compressed air. Individual blast pressure regulators enable fine adjustment of the blasting intensity.
The mineral grit abrasive is collected in four hoppers at the bottom of the blast chamber and conveyed pneumatically to the cyclone separator media reclaimer via thick cast urethane ducting. The intake elbow, body and cone of the cyclone reclaimer are also lined with urethane rubber, one of the most abrasion resistant materials available. Other special abrasion resistant features of the continuous-duty blast system are urethane media delivery hoses, bronze-bodied blast guns and boron carbide lined blast nozzles.
Electronic sensors and up-to-date controls enhance the functionality and user-friendliness of the dryblast processing system. Level sensors in the media delivery system detect when the supply of grit is low, and this triggers automatic replenishment of the media from a storage hopper. A low media level in the storage hopper itself triggers a fault indication well in advance of the time that the steady flow of grit to the blast guns could be interrupted.
Inadequate pressure in the compressed air supply to the machine or insufficient air flow in the media reclaimer and dust collector are also sensed, resulting in a fault indication. A rotating beacon light summons an attendant in the event of a fault, and the touch-screen panel enables quick identification of the problem through graphics and text prompts.

The product of over a century of size reduction experience, the Rotary DeClumper represents the newest addition to Munson's size reduction line. It is designed for dry powder de-agglomeration,
reducing scrap product, or compacted, lumpy, and hard friable materials from silos, bags or bulk sacks.
The Rotary DeClumper is a heavy duty, dual-rotor mill that is inexpensive, simple to maintain, and trouble free. It is designed for cost-effective, rapid, in-line lump breaking, de-agglomerating, or situations where high speed and high horsepower are not required. It is available in a variety of materials such as carbon steel, #304 and #316 stainless steel, abrasion resistant steel (AR-235), and in sanitary construction.
Sizes range from a 3 HP 15" X 15" model to a 40 HP 36" X 48" model with classifying screen sizes from 1/32" to 2 ½". Feed hoppers and support structures are available as options.
The Rotary DeClumper is ideal for such applications as salt, sugar, or oxide lump breaking, or for easy-to-break items such as glass.

Concrete Floor Spreader
The pictures are of a hydraulic powered floor laying machine which is based on an electric vehicle chassis, similar to a milk float. We designed this machine from scratch
and acted as project manager whilst the machine was being manufactured at a local company.
The hopper on the back of the vehicle holds a dry powder, which is ready mixed and only requires water to be laid as a levelling screed.
The powder is mixed with water by a continuous mixer, which is hydraulically driven, and dropped into a vibrating spreader box, this ensures that the mix is evenly distributed across the full width of the path being levelled. This laying mechanism can be tilted up so that the vehicle can travel at a faster speed whilst not in laying mode.
As the machine moves slowly along, the mix is levelled using a spreader bar that is adjusted up or down by hydraulic cylinders. These cylinders are controlled by proportioal valves which obtain commands from specially manufactured electronics that sense the verical position of a rotating lazer.
All of the power to operate the machine, both hydraulic and electric, is generated by a modified Kobota generator set. The fuel tank was removed and replaced with a hydraulic tank, a hydraulic pump fitted to the engine and the engine modified to run on gas, so that it was suitable for running indoors. This then provided all of the hydraulic power for the mixer, levelling system and tilt mechanism and electrical power for the water supply, powder vibrators, proportional valves and could even charge the truck batteries via a battery charger in the cab.

Description of Operation:
The operator controls blasting from a remote control handle at the nozzle. Pressing the handle starts blasting; releasing it stops blasting. The blast machine contains abrasive and meters it into the compressed air stream.

ABRASIVE BLASTING ROLLER CONVEYOR SYSTEM
Guyson Corporation has introduced an automated blast machine for in-line surface preparation of long profiles, rod, bar and tube materials. The Model RC-800 roller conveyor blast system can be used
with a wide variety of grit, shot and bead media to produce different surface textures or finishes.
Powered rubber rollers at the entry and exit sides of the blast cabinet are fitted with spring-loaded tension rollers to grasp the work and steadily feed it at controlled and adjustable speed. Inside the finishing enclosure, up to eight suction-blast guns are rigidly locked in fixed position on multi-adjustable brackets to provide uniform 360-degree coverage. The guns can, alternatively, be arranged to selectively target certain areas of the work, for instance, to prepare specific features for bonding or cementing operations.
The interior of the cabinet is made with vestibules on both sides that house the synchronized drive roller mechanism. These separate chambers are sealed by rubber flaps and brushes to isolate the drives from the abrasive blasting media, as well as to help prevent the escape of media or dust into the work environment and to reduce the operating noise level of the automated blasting system.
The Model RC-800 can be supplied with external roller conveyors, either on the entry side to aid in feeding the work or at the exit to accumulate finished pieces. Maximum feed rates vary according to the material and the type of surface treatment. The new model machine is recommended for processing sections that are at least six feet in length. To blast shorter sections, special adaptations are required, with more powered rollers spaced closer together.
When the processing specifications require the highest degree of consistency in technical surface preparation, for instance, when a specific roughness must be produced prior to a critical coating, the Model RC-800 can be supplied with an enhanced media reclamation system. In addition to a high-performance cyclone separator, the precision reclaim may include a vibratory screen classifier to maintain the tightest possible control over shot or grit particle sizing. Numerous electronic sensor options are available for monitoring and control.
Abrasion resistance features of the system include bonded rubber lining of the blast cabinet and cyclone, cast urethane ducting to the media reclaimer, boron carbide-lined nozzles and an inner anti-frost window sealed in a quick-change frame.

Mk18. (Pattern 608) A complete system of medium density connectors and accessories designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions. Approved to BS9522-F0020, Mk18 connectors are particularly
suitable for exposed areas in marine and land based equipments. The nickel aluminium bronze shells provide excellent corrosion resistance coupled with high strength.
The quick start thread coupling nut with anti-vibration device gives positive controlled compression of the interface seal in a metal to metal condition, resulting in a screening performance of 75dB at 100MHz typical and 55dB at 1000MHz.
MK 18 connectors are available in 9 shell sizes with planforms, based on Mil-C-26482 accommodating from 2 to 61 contacts.
