ULTRASONIC WELDING

ULTRASONIC WELDING

Ultrasonic welding is the process by which two pieces of plastic are joined together through the use of high-frequency acoustic vibrations. For the process one half of the component is placed on a fixed anvil and the second half is placed on top. An extension, connected to the transducer on the welding machine, called a “horn” is then lowered down on top of the two components. Once the horn is in place a very rapid low-amplitude acoustic vibration is applied to the moulding in a small welding zone. This vibration causes the acoustic energy to be converted into heat energy and the two components are welded together in a short space of time, typically less than one second. >>>

ULTRASEAL® ST-40HS PLASTIC TUBE SEALERS

ULTRASEAL® ST-40HS PLASTIC TUBE SEALERS

The ST-40HS is an advanced ultrasonic tube sealing system that uses ultrasonic energy to scrub through stringers and contaminants to produce a hermetic seal on most tube materials, including laminates. A variety of seal patterns are available with date coding easily accomplished at the time of closure. Some of the major benefits of our ST-40HS are: Simple installation: The ST-40's compact design is easily installed on all types of filling machines. Reducing rejects improves productivity: The ultrasonic sealing process seals through product contamination and cuts rejects to less than 1%. Superior cosmetic appearance: The ultrasonic process eliminates flash and 'ears' often associated with other methods. Fast: Depending on tube size and material, the ST-40HS operates at rates of up to 80 tubes per minute. Quick changeover: Versatile tooling requires no changes from tube style to tube style. Quick start-up: The ultrasonic process requires no warm up time and allows immediate start-up at the beginning of a shift. Low operating costs: The ultrasonic process is energy efficient. It only uses power when sealing, and does not have to maintain tool temperature. >>>

ULTRASPLICE® ADVANCED TERMINATOR

ULTRASPLICE® ADVANCED TERMINATOR

AmTech's Terminators are heavy-duty systems, providing economy, high productivity, quick tool changes, and the highest quality splices from one to thirty square millimeters in cross-sectional area of wire. A fully automatic wire gathering mechanism makes operation and maximum productivity easy. Infinite weld size adjustments can be made with precise digital settings. The patented quick-change tooling has multiple weld surfaces that can produce millions of splices at minimum cost. The low profile, rugged actuator can be bench mounted or easily incorporated into a wire splice station on an assembly line. Controls are simple and operator-friendly. The Advanced Terminator automatically compensates for line voltage variations of ±15%. Maintaining process control and high quality standards is vital in every industry. For this reason, AmTech has developed an advanced control system for wire splicing. The AmTech Ultrasplice features an advanced microprocessor control that monitors the weld cycle through a power feedback signal. The power in Watts applied to the weld is integrated over the weld time to determine the total energy applied. This automatically adjusts the weld cycle to produce perfect quality welds, regardless of wire variations. Control limits can be preset on weld time, power, and height. If any splice falls outside the preset limits, a signal alerts the operator to isolate the suspect assembly. 1000 preset splice parameters can be stored in the controller’s memory, and instantly recalled to facilitate setup and eliminate operator error. >>>
