DRUM WASHER

These washers are primarily designed for thorough washing and removal of lye residues from fruit and vegetables after a caustic peeling process. They are however imminently suitable for use as washers to remove soil from root vegetables before storage, packaging or further processing. Features include the ability to control the rate of product flow through the machine as well as the washing action, by varying the rotational speed of the drum. The Drum itself is divided into two washing sections, each with its own water supply. The machine uses the contra flow principle by which fresh water enters the product discharge end of the machine, which is subsequently collected and pumped to the product inlet section of the machine, where the water can then either be used to feed the final sprays of lye peeler or discharged. The drum lining imparts a gentle scrubbing action to produce, but if necessary additional scrubbing heads can be fitted and installed.
