A duplexer is used in a communications device to pass transmission signals and received signals in different frequency bands. A duplexer isolates the transmitter and the receiver to permit simultaneous operation in duplex operation of a radio transmitter and a receiver connected to a common antenna. A monoblock dielectric duplexer comprises a block of a dielectric material. The monoblock dielectric duplexer typically comprises a transmit-filtering portion and a receive-filtering portion, wherein the frequency band of the transmit-filtering portion relatively is lower than that of the receive-filtering portion. A dielectric type duplexer uses a dielectric for transmit and receive filters. A typical duplexer is a combination of bandpass and band-reject filters that allow signals from the transmitter to reach the antenna while preventing the transmit signals from reaching the receiver.

E2v is a world leading supplier of a wide range of plug-in and build-up Inductive Output Tubes (IOTs) and their high efficiency versions, the Energy Saving IOT (ESCIOT®). which are used as the
final amplifier stage in UHF television transmitters and more recently in high power scientific power supplies.
IOT technology is a highly cost-effective solution for analogue television transmitters over 10kW peak sync and digital transmitters over 5kW average power.
Whilst an IOT powered television transmitter will consume typically 50% of the power of a klystron transmitter they usually replace. Tests have proved that the ESCIOT® offers ever greater savings, being 40-50% more efficient than an IOT in both analogue and digital service. The graph below illustrates the substantially improved efficiency levels experienced with the e2v ESCIOT® in comparison to an IOT:
The final choice of whether to use a conventional IOT or an ESCIOT® comes down to a calculation comparing the saving in electricity consumption to the additional cost of the transmitter system.
The graph below compares the cost of running a 30kW average digital power transmitter, over a 20 year period, of replacement tubes (assuming 30,000 hours life), and electricity costs, against varying costs of electricity per hour.
As you would expect, the savings achievable with an ESCIOT® powered transmitter are based on efficiency and so increase linearly with electricity cost.

The Multi-Input Field Unit is ideal for adding wireless capabilities to existing or new wired measurement sensors such as radar tank gauges, flow meters, chemical analyzers, or any other device that
has voltage or current outputs. The Multi-Input Field Unit is available in current (4-20 mA), voltage (0-10 V), or millivolt (0-1000mV) versions, each accepting up to two analog inputs. Each model also includes two discrete contact closure
inputs (for simple apparatus). A variety of packages are also available to fit the field environment ranging from NEMA 4 or 4X to NEMA 7 Explosion Proof for integration to field instruments not rated intrinsically safe. The XP housing can also be used to provide field 24 VDC power (if available) in lieu of standard battery power.
The Field Unit is an integrated input module, signal conditioner and RF transceiver with self-contained power operating in the 902 MHz to 928 MHz ISM license-free band. Rated intrinsically safe, it is approved for use in all hazardous areas. Optional output switches can also be provided to perform on/off control in the field based on programmable input set point. Output switch option for ordinary area classification only.
The versatile Multi-Input Field Unit can accept conditioned signals or raw sensor inputs. Using the 22 point offset curve, transducer outputs can be converted into meaningful engineering units with non-linear curves that are user programmable.

The new IC-M505 VHF/DSC marine transceiver and its optional Commandmic HM-162 is inspired by the design of the popular IC-M503E, and provides unrivalled features and performance. The optional HM-162
will allow for full remote control of all the built-in Class D DSC functions of the IC-M505, as well as providing intercom capabilities and other remote functionality including foghorn and a loud hailer.
Improved waterproof construction to IPX8: (1.5 meter/30 min).
Both the IC-M505 and HM-162 have an improved waterproof construction to IPX8: (1.5 meter/30 min). This gives them a waterproofing level greater than anything else currently in the market.
Stylish, ergonomic design
The IC-M505 retains 4' x 6' dimensions while reducing case depth by 15.6mm. The IC-M505 features large buttons and knobs, which are ergonomically laid out for easy, user-friendly operation. They are also backlit for night time use.
HM-162 Commandmic allows operation of all functions including DSC, Hailer and foghorn from remote station.
The optional HM-162 COMMANDMICT provides 2nd station capability. The HM-162 features slim dimensions and a sizeable LCD. By using the central jog dial you can operate all functions of the IC-M505 including DSC operation, loud hailer and foghorn from remote locations such as the cockpit or fly bridge up to a maximum distance of 21.3 metres (70ft).
Hailer function (25W) and auto fog horn function
When connected to a two-way hailer horn, communication with other boats and deck or dock hands is easy. The built-in amplifier increases talk power to 25W making your message loud and clear. Four fog horn patterns are available for the automatic fog horn, adding further to the safety of the vessel.

The IC-M505 has a built-in Ch 70 receiver, which monitors activity, even while you are receiving another channel. When in an emergency situation, an automated distress call can be sent with a touch of a button.

When connected to an external GPS receiver, the position request and position report functions allow you to exchange ship's position information. Connected to a suitable GPS potter will allow a visual display of incoming DSC distress alert and position request.
Large LCD with dot-matrix characters
The IC-M505 has a capability of up to 168- character full dot-matrix display that allows a variety of information such as GPS data and DSC emergency data etc. to be seen instantly and easily. With the backlit display, the large 10-keypad buttons and knobs, the IC-M505 is easy to operate.
Loud and clear audio
The IC-M505 features a large speaker that can produce very loud and clear reception without requiring repetition of the message, even over engine or other background noise.
The IC-M505 has excellent receiver performance and calls are remarkably clear and free from noise. The powerful audio output from the front facing speaker further increases the clarity of received calls.
