SARA2 measurements can be used for final data submission and complies with all present SAR standards. SARA2 generates the reports you need for filing: SAR maxima identification for each device position, configuration and operational mode; all information necessary for the interpretation of test and/or calibration results; and all information required by the method used. SARA2 is the smart way to test. Advanced technology is used throughout. For example, the phantom volume is laser digitized so the system knows where the probe tip is at all times. Other systems require establishing a vector position at each measurement point, slowing the test process. And SARA2 uses a fast amplifier for the probe signal, with a 2 ms response time. That allows direct reading of values instead of correlation tables, and increases sensitivity for pulsed waveforms like GSM. The SARA2 Advantage Less Liquid ManagementMost SAR systems use the form of a bisected phantom head in a "flat bath" configuration similar to a kitchen sink. The "sink" is the hollow form of the bisected phantom (with a portion of the upper torso), filled with glycol solution that simulates human tissue. The EUT (i.e. a wireless handset) is placed under the pan, and a probe mounted on a robotic arm is lowered into the solution for measurements. The disadvantages of this method are: Boundary issues at the surface of the pan do not allow the entire phantom to be scanned. Up to 20 or more liters of glycol mixture are required for each pan. Standards require a different glycol mixture for each frequency tested: pans must filled and drained repeatedly. Settling time is required between fills. The large surface area of the pan encourages contamination, evaporation and stratification of the glycol mixture, effecting measurement accuracy. Evaporating glycol mixture can cause nausea (full tests require several hours). The EUT is placed under the pan, near the floor, requiring awkward bending and stooping. SARA2 is a simpler more sensible way to make SAR measurements. Instead of a large pan, a compact upright phantom is used. The phantom is filled with the same glycol mixture*, but with only a third of the volume used by a pan. A small diameter opening at the top of the phantom (used for probe access) minimizes evaporation. And when it's time to test at a new frequency, a second upright phantom with the correct solution can be switched in place. The upright phantom speeds testing because there is none of the liquid management problems pans have. And, it's much easier to position a EUT correctly on an upright phantom than bending and stooping under a fluid filled pan! Not only is the upright phantom method easier, faster, and more efficient, it's approved for full compliance measurement. >>>
