    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 1000TD

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 1000TD

The 1000TD is the smallest craft in the Griffon range which is fitted with a heavy duty industrial diesel engine. Ideally suited to transporting up to 12 people (or a total payload of 825kg in its full cabin version or 1000kg in the flat/well deck version), this craft has been very successfully operated in the civil engineering support role, and the hydrographic and seismic survey roles. It has been purchased by water and power authorities and, in the military role, as a command centre for search and rescue (S & R), medical evacuation and flood relief. Griffon Hovercraft Ltd. (GHL) was the first company in the world to fit a diesel engine into small to medium sized hovercraft (in a 1000TD in 1983), and this transformed the reliability of hovercraft overnight. Since that time, GHL has never again put petrol engines into a hovercraft because of the unreliability of the petrol engine's electrics in the harsh salt water/spray/weed/sand/mud environment in which most hovercraft work. >>>

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 2000 TD

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 2000 TD

This craft, and its forebears (variously named as the 1500TD, 2000TD, 2000TDX and 2000TDX MkII) is the most popular craft in the extensive Griffon range. As with all Griffon hovercraft, it should only really be used where its amphibious capabilities are needed rather than just its high speed. Other good reasons for purchasing hovercraft include the lack of wash/wake at high speed, and the lack of normal infrastructure for boats (i.e. no harbours, no reliable deep water channels, no pontoons/piers etc.). In the commercial market, the applications for this size of craft have included airport crash rescue, search and rescue, oil crew boats, passenger ferries (tourist and commuter), medical clinics, dredging support, civil engineering support and exploration. In the military/paramilitary roles, this size of craft is in service with the British Royal Marines (4 craft), the Swedish Coast Guard (3 craft), Finland Frontier Guard (3 craft), Belgian Army (1 craft), the Estonian Boarder Guard (1 craft) and Lithuanian Border Police (1 craft), Pakistan Navy (4 craft). >>>

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 3000 TD

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 3000 TD

This craft is the smallest of the twin industrial diesel-engined craft. Seating 36-48 passengers or carrying a 3-4 tonnes payload, this is the size of craft chosen by the Shell oil company of Nigeria. Shell completed probably the most extensive worldwide evaluation of hovercraft ever undertaken. After some two years of this practical and theoretical evaluation, they placed an order for three craft on Griffon Hovercraft Ltd. The particular specification for their craft included 30 airline-type seats, a separate cargo/freight hold, a toilet and double air conditioning. The reasons for Shell purchasing hovercraft were:- (a) The hovercraft’s ability to operate in the Niger delta during all seasons and tides - in the dry season these craft operate over mud, in the wet they operate over logs, debris and flooded areas and (b) The lack of wash/wake at high speed. Secondary roles for these Shell craft include quick deployment for oil spill response, rig blow-out and medical evacuation. These hovercraft were built to Lloyds Classification. >>>

    CANTALUPI LED

LED is the light source of the future; Architects, Designers and Yacht Owners are increasingly asking for this new application. In order to fully use the potential of this light source and adapt it to the necessities of the marine industry, Cantalupi Lighting has heavily invested in its internal R&D department by creating its own technology, CNT Technology, for the design of lenses and reflectors. This technology allows to produce optics that can maximise and control the light produced by LEDs. >>>

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 380TD

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 380TD

The Griffon 380TD is the smallest craft in the Griffon range, capable of carrying 6 persons or a payload of 380kgs (837lbs) over a variety of surfaces at high speed. This rugged rigid-inflatable hovercraft is propelled by a VW diesel engine while a Lombardini diesel engine provides the lift, and is built specifically to undertake work boat duties. Manufactured in a combination of aluminium and composite (FRP) materials, the 380TD is ideally suited to applications such as crash rescue, survey, dredging and civil engineering support, mud and weed sampling, pipeline inspection and paramilitary duties. With the optional hover-on hover-off road trailer, one person can quickly and easily transport and operate this unique vessel virtually anywhere. The low-noise 380TD will accomplish almost any task performed by a conventional boat of the same size, but it will operate where no boat can venture - over land, shallow water, sandbanks, mudflats, ice, snow, weed, logs, debris and rapids. It will operate equally well from unprepared beaches, riverbanks and fields as it will from harbours, piers and pontoons. Griffon Hovercraft Ltd provides full training for new customers (only one day per pupil is normally required) as well as full after sales support. The Griffon 380TD is serviced and maintained very simply and economically, yet it is the most advanced hovercraft of its size available in the world today. >>>

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 470TD

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 470TD

The Griffon 470TD is a twin diesel-engined craft capable of speeds in excess of 30 knots (35 mph, 55kms/hr) designed for amphibious operations in protected waters. Seating 6-8 people, including the driver, or carrying a total of 470kgs (1036lbs) of payload, this highly manoeuvrable small hovercraft will operate where no boat can venture - over land, shallow water, sand banks, mud flats, ice, snow, rocks, weed, logs, debris and rapids. Conceived specifically for the RNLI (Royal National Life Boat Institute) as a search and rescue craft, where manoeuvrability in small, remote shallow waters is paramount, the 470TD is designed with a 'get-you-home' capability on only one engine. Like all Griffon Hovercraft, the 470TD is designed and built as a workboat, and several of these craft are working full-time for the RNLI based around the UK. However the many applications worldwide for these craft include virtually any role undertaken by a conventional workboat i.e. VIP transportation, crash rescue, survey, dredging and civil engineering support, and paramilitary duties. Unlike a workboat however, the 470TD needs no piers, pontoons or deep water channels - it will operate from unprepared riverbanks, beaches and fields. This small unique twin diesel-engined craft is the most advanced hovercraft of its size available in the world today. >>>

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 8000 TD

    PRODUCT - GRIFFON 8000 TD

The Griffon 8000TD is the latest, largest and most powerful hovercraft in the large griffon range. Capable of speeds in excess of 50 knots (58mph or 93 kph) This craft cruises at a speed of 40+ knots with a full payload in zero wind zero wave('0/0') conditions. The 8000TD, and its military version the 8000TD(M), is powered by two water cooled diesel. Since a hovercraft obviously can not pick up raw cooling water whilst traveling over land the 8000TD's engines are radiator cooled. Whereas the 8000TD is the same overall length as the 4000TD, it is nearly one metre wider. However with its two 596kW (800hp) engines compared to the 4000TD's two 386kW(525hp) engines, it is far more powerful and seems to be the preferred choice for military operators. Please see the latest developments page for the news on the six 8000TD(M) ordered by the Indian Coast Guard. Depending upon configuration, the 8000TD carries a 8 -10 tonnes payload. In its commercial role, this high speed amphibious craft can carry 80 passengers in airline - type seats, plus their luggage. It is also proving of interest to various airport crash rescue authorities where it is capable of rescuing many more people and can be equipped with full fire fighting, first aid and rescue apparatus. The 8000TD can also be equipped with a bow ramp and carry small conventional or tracked vehicles, or a combination of people, cargo/freight and a vehicle. In the military role, these craft are particularly useful for amphibious assault, logistics support and fast attack - perhaps lying up on an unprepared beach under trees and then taking the direct line (regardless of deep water channels, mud, sand, rock etc.) to intercept. Another very important role for the 8000TD (M) is Mine Counter Measure(MCM). Hovercraft do not set off mines over which they travel (they produce virtually no acoustic, magnetic or pressure signatures) and the Royal Navy proved that, should a mine inadvertently be set off beneath a hovercraft, the air cushion will absorb the shock wave, there will be no injures to the crew, and the craft will travel back to its base under its own power. Equipped with today's light-weight sonars, navigation and tracking systems, the hovercraft can travel under its own power (or be transported to the mined area) operate off an unprepared beach and carry out rapid mine clearance in the surf zone (i.e. from ten meters water depth right up to and onto the beach). The 8000TD is set to dominate the medium-lift market for hovercraft. >>>
