With the safe coupling module for "AS-interface safety at work", Mayser has heralded in the digital age in the area of tactile sensors. By means of the intelligent module it is possible for the first time to transmit binary output signals from Safety Mats, Safety Edges or Safety Bumpers directly to an AS-i bus line. This bus line need not be reserved exclusively for the safety sensor system: a safety monitor also connected to the bus line monitors all safety sensors. The coupling module is a category 3 Control Unit in accordance with EN 954 with an integrated AS-i chip. It only works in connection with the safety monitor, which was developed for the "AS interface safety at work" for safety applications up to category 4 in accordance with EN 954.
