KC-1 MICROBIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINET
The KOJAIR KC-1 safety cabinet provides a safe working chamber for the operator and environment alike when handling hazardous materials. All work inside the safety cabinet is performed via the work
opening. Air is constantly being removed, which prevents contaminated particles reaching the operator's breathing zone.
This safety cabinet has an opening through which the operator can manipulate the objects it contains, air being continuously exhausted to prevent the escape of airborne contamination generated inside. The air flow in this safety cabinet is not laminar.
Technical information
Construction
The safety cabinet interior is constructed of stainless steel.
Window
The front window is made of laminated 6 mm thick glass, and can be sealed for fumigation and opened for ease of access to the work space.
Finishing
All internal finishes are solvent, disinfectant and abrasion resistant, and the base flat and rigid, preventing it from flexing which might create dangerous conditions inside the cabinet.
Lighting
The illumination of the work surface is 1,000 lux.
Filters
The main filter is a leak-tested, high efficiency HEPA-filter which meets the requirements of standard H14, i.e. an efficiency of at least 99.995% for particles with an average diameter measured according to MPPS. The filter is mounted in such a way that no air can by-pass the filter medium.
Exhaust system
The safety cabinet is constructed to exhaustair into the atmosphere using an individual fan mounted downstream of the filter. The fan is virtually silent and voltage regulated. The safety cabinet is fitted with an automatic anti-flowback system downstream of the filters to prevent air flowing back inside, particularly when the fan is switched off.
Air velocity
The safety cabinet is designed to ensure that the air velocity at all points of the working aperture remains within the specified limits, a minimum of 0.7 m/s.
Noise level
The noise level is approximately 53 dB(A).
KC-1 safety cabinet fulfills the requirements of standard EN-12469.

Full Traceability
Labcaire's Endoscope Storage Cabinet provides HEPA filtered air over all surfaces and into all channels of flexible endoscopes whilst they are in the cabinet ensuring they are well ventilated at all times. In addition, the channel air is molecularly dried ensuring endoscopes are not exposed to any potential contamination that could be associated with storage of instruments in conventional cabinets and any residual microbial contamination after reprocessing is removed.
Each cabinet offers safe 72hour storage with full traceability, scope and operator tagging system similar to that installed within the Labcaire AERs. The ESC5T and ESC10T models are compatible with all makes of flexible endoscopes and can be joined together to form an unbroken run of cabinets as all servicing is performed from the front.
Users can protect their position by demonstrating full traceability. For example, on non-traceable cabinets it is possible to remove and replace a scope without the movement being logged. This makes it impossible for users to verify that the scope has not become re-infected during storage.
The Labcaire ESC5T and ESC10T models enables hospitals to implement a traceability system that can be applied from the time an endoscope is presented for cleaning to the point of use.

Affinity FR
[Folded Respirator]
The foldable Affinity FR line is available in FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 versions. All versions meet the requirements of EN 149:2001, providing the best efficiency against most penetrating solid and liquid aerosol particles, depending on which class of filter is used.
[Fit]
The low-profile design of Affinity FR makes it ideal for use under welding hoods or in any tight spot where a respirator must be worn. Affinity folded respirators also offer “one-size-fits-all” convenience without compromising effectiveness. Unlike other folded respirators, Affinity FR are folded vertically, providing a more anthropometrically correct face seal.
[Comfort]
The smooth inner lining of the Affinity FR provides a tight seal. A pre-shaped nose clip allows for easy contour adjustments to achieve a snug fit that prevents exhaled breath from escaping and fogging safety glasses. The elastic band ensures a good tight fit for all face and head sizes. The optional exhalation valve lets the exhaled air out for easier breathing and keeps the respirator cooler. Affinity FR is dolomite tested to guarantee better breathing comfort, particularly in high dust environments.

Because they are individually wrapped, Affinity FR can be carried on the job,when not in use. Even in dirty conditions, it will remain free of dirt and debris. Due to its small size, the respirator fits in your pocket, ready for use. Benchkote
Benchkote is an absorbent, impermeable material designed to protect laboratory surfaces against hazardous spills. The material features a high quality, smooth, absorbent Whatman paper
which quickly absorbs liquid spills and a laminated polyethylene layer that prevents flow through to the working surface. After use the sheet is incinerated or disposed of according to local regulations. This makes both Benchkote and Benchkote Plus excellent products that comply with OSHA Regulation 29CFR 1910.1030 for Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
Benchkote Plus
Benchkote Plus is a thicker, more absorbent material for more demanding applications and can absorb in excess of 0.75 litres of water per square meter.

KC-3 MICROBIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINET
The Kojair KC-III is a class III safety cabinet which protects the user and the environment from hazards in handling infected and other dangerous biological material.
The cabinet separates the
operator from the work using a barrier, e.g. gloves mechanically attached to the cabinet and from which the escape of any airborne particles is prevented by an exhaust system.

Filters
The main filters are leak-tested, high efficiency HEPA-filters which meet the requirements of Federal Standard 209 E. The inlet filter is to the same specification as the exhaust filter. These filters generate the correct airflow, ensuring a minimum working pressure of 200 Pa.
Material pass-through
Materials required for normal work are placed inside the cabinet via a material pass-through made of stainless steel. A sliding tray in the bottom of the pass-through makes this easy.
Gloves
The gloves have a beaded cuff conforming to the diameter and shape of the glove ports. They are made of a rubber material so that damage to a glove can be detected easily. Gloves can easily be replaced from outside the cabinet, the old gloves being pushed inside and the new ones fitted while the fan is still running.
The Kojair KC-3 Cabinet fulfills the requirements of EN-12469.
