BOAT - TRADER 42 MOTOR YACHT
The Trader 42 is the third Generation Two model to be launched. Like the 64 and 70, this all newTrader features a brand-new tank tested hull, and exterior styling by Tony Castro. The
successor to
the evergreen Trader 41+2, this new model builds on her predecessor’s traditional virtues while also providing up to date performance and systems.
In standard form, her hinged mast can be lowered giving a max air draft of 3.50m. this means that this is the first Trader that can access the upper reaches of the Thames and the extensive inland waterways of mainland Europe.
Styled to be very much in the Trader family, the 42 exterior is also full of the practical features and safety conscious design you expect from Trader, including 1m high handrails, MCA ground tackle, raised mooring gear and a side deck door to the saloon.
On the inside, the Trader 42 has been designed with the Generation Two home-from-home ethos firmly in mind. This means you will find conveniently shaped berths, spacious heads with separate shower stalls and domestic sized appliances, including a washer dryer.
The palatial owners’ suite is located aft for space and privacy. The distinctive Trader transom bay-view window floods the cabin with light and lets you enjoy the view out from bed.
The saloon seating has been raised and pushed forward so again the views at sea can be enjoyed all the time. Opposite, a fully equipped galley with spacious counters will keep every cook happy. Two skylights provide light and stargazing opportunities above.
Guest accommodation is forward, with another full sized double cabin
and another fully equipped head. With easy access to the laundry from the forward lobby and the engine room down a few steps, living on board will be easy.
Built at an all new waterfront factory facility on the Pearl River, the Trader
42 uses sophisticated composite construction techniques and moulding technologies to offer various layout /configuration possibilities and ensure the highest quality.
The comprehensive system design utilises the finest components available. Power is provided by the twin Cummins QSB 5.9 at 380hp or 425hp for 25 knot performance. Jabsco, Raymarine, Grohe are just some of the premium brands used. The electrical system has been developed with Mastervolt and the 42 will be the first production yacht offered with their 5 year limited warranty.
Further options include three cabin layouts, optional interior helm and versions with a hardtop and full flybridge.

On the technical side, the hull is built using the infusion technique, the lead keel has a moderate bulb and the deck fittings are the best available. The Centurion 40s is also equipped with the Wauquiez patented transom platform fitted on the 45s.
