The protection of devices against surge voltage, which may be caused by lightning strikes and switching operations, is defined in the EN61000-4-5. The norm requires, that devices which are used in the common mains must be tested at least according to class 3. The device which is tested, undergoes voltage pulses of 1 kV between the conductors and 2 kV between conductor and earth. The rise time and the fall time of the nominal pulse lays between 1,2 µs and 50 µs. Most of the standard power supplies are tested according to this testing severity and thus correspond to the norm. But in the international use surge voltages may occur which exceed those during the testing conditions and which destroy the primary circuits. Because of an integrated special multi-level over voltage protection circuit the DC-UPS system AKKUTEC 2420 is enormously safer. This protection circuit works in such an effective way that surge voltages up to 6 kV can not destroy the device. The AKKUTEC 2420 is tested conductor against conductor as well as conductor against earth with 6 kV. So you may obtain a protection which is 6 times higher than the protection of a power supply which is tested according to the minimum requirements. >>>

Thus the system does not only work at an input voltage of 230 V +/- 15 %, but also works faultlessly at an input voltage which lies out of this range. Because the systems can be operated either in Master-Slave mode or in redundant-mode, complex systems with high ratings and extremely high safety can be realized. The wide range input was also realized at the three-phase 20 A version and at the 40 A-Version. At this systems, the input diversifies in the range of 3 x 400 - 500 V –15% + 10%. These units may be operated as stand-alone modules for load currents from 20 A to 40 A. As a system in master-slave operation up to 5 systems may be connected in parallel, so that the output current may reach 200 A. For use with USB 1.1 and 2.0 systems, up to 127 units can be connected to a single PC. Drivers are available for Windows, MAC and Linux operating systems. The USB-AD is supplied with an Active-X component and comprehensive programming examples for use with most common programming languages. There are also VI for use with LabVIEW and there is a USB-AD component ion the ProfiLab programming package. The USB-AD is also supplied with a copy of nextView4-Live data acquisition and control software. With NextView-Live, the user can acquire and analyse data, set analogue and digital outputs and read the status of the digital inputs. The user can create their own screens, with chart displays, text, alarm panels, output sliders etc. NOTE - The Live version of NextView does not allow acquired data to be saved to disk for analysis later or exported to Excel. When the program is closed, all acquired data is lost. Please see other versions of NextView for this functionality.
