    The Daytona 600 was Rapitypes® first commission for Triumph Motorcycles and was completed in 2002. The design was the first of a new style, which has taken the brand into a new era of sharp focus. After the physical model was signed off we scanned the surfaces using an optical scanning system and transferred the cloud point data to our CAD design section. Here our engineers built A class surfaces to G3 contiguity for second level sign-off prior to commencing the B surface engineering. Engineering schemes supplied by Triumph were then used as our brief to create full solid models from the A surface data, (with all fixing and location detail) in readiness for tool making. The final CAD models were built to < 5% geometry check levels. The design moved forward into production in record time and was launched at the 2002 Motorcycle exhibition at the NEC in the UK. Since then Rapitypes® has completed six prototype development projects for the company and have supplied reverse engineering, batch prototypes and prove-out parts.A video conference suite enables clear and swift communication with our clients.
