EAVES PROTECTION

EAVES PROTECTION
Eaves protection units are available in unvented and vented formats. When vented versions are used the height of the fascia should be reduced by 25mm. Unvented Jumbotec over fascia protection is a rigid PVC extrusion. It is fixed to the top of the fascia and supports roofing felt immediately behind the fascia. Unsupported felt often collects water, a process known as ponding. It then deteriorates and allows moisture through to the rafters. Vented Eaves Protector The Vented Eaves Protector (C404) provides over fascia protection in a similar way to Jumbotec above. In addition it provides over fascia ventilation equivalent to a continuous 10mm air gap. A separate Bird Comb (C405) may be attached to keep out birds and large insects in conjunction with profiled tiles. >>>

Built in 2005 with finance and support from St Patricks Festival Dublin. The Phoenix has been seen at The St Patricks Parade Dublin and at other events in both the Republic and Northern Ireland. It has not yet appeared in England, Scotland, Wales or Cornwall. The Phoenix is powered by a 4x4 with one trailer and two smaller bogies. It is animated by internal hydraulic mechanisms : the wings can be raised and lowered and the whole bird can be risen out of its fiery nest. It is operated by a minimum of four people. Built with finance and support from St Patricks Festival Dublin, the Puca made its first appearance at the Dublin street parade in 2000. Of spectacular size the Puca is powered by a 4x4 pick up truck towing a train of seven trailers. Further animation (and height reduction) can be given by dropping air pressure within the neck. The Puca is operated by a minimum of four people, including driver. Since its first appearance it has been seen regularly in Dublin and throughout Ireland as well as at The Edinburgh Festival, Glastonbury, The Lord Mayors Parade London, The Lord Mayors Parade Belfast, New Year's Parade London and many other events. Designed and built by the Dome Company with structural analysis by Hadyn Evans Basis of design drafted by Hadyn Evans. Construction The frame is of curved laminated timber beams each of 4 laminates bonded and finished in epoxy resin. The timber beams are assembled with fabricated steel connectors with galvanised finish. The overslung cover is of acrylic coated polyester (fire certificate). Access Via 5 triangular doorways each 3.1 metres across the base and 2.4 metres high. Each door fitted with central zip and burst through Velcro.
