CHASE FRICTION MATERIAL TEST SYSTEM

CHASE FRICTION MATERIAL TEST SYSTEM

Model 200, Model 600 The Chase Friction Material Test Machine is engineered to evaluate the frictional characteristics of materials used in braking systems in accordance with the SAE J661 test procedure. The machine may be used for quality control, research and development, or certificationapplications. The operation is based upon a one square inch sample of material which is contoured to rub against the interior or a simulated brake drum. By controlling either the normal load or the friction force while monitoring the other parameter under various thermal, speed, and load conditions, an assessment of the material’s frictional properties may be made. Rubbing speed is controlled by a variable speed drive, load is controlled by a closed-loop servo system, and the temperature of the test drum is controlled by resistance heaters and a forced-air cooling system. Test results are presented in text and graphic form during the test, and presented in hard copy form at the completion of the test sequence. >>>

DURABILITY TESTING SOLUTIONS - LMS TECWARE TEST SCHEDULE DEFINITION

DURABILITY TESTING SOLUTIONS - LMS TECWARE TEST SCHEDULE DEFINITION

Firmly decreasing the duration of validated load data signals is essential in drastically reducing the time required to execute physical or virtual durability tests. LMS TecWare Test Schedule Definition supports engineers by efficiently determining sets of compressed load time histories that preserve the same damage potential as originally present – enabling both the generation of new and the optimization of existing test schedules. Each of the implemented methods is ease-to-use and highly efficient because dedicated batch files capturing the complete process are offered. LMS TecWare RP-Filter is based on a novel approach which removes the small load cycles of a time series based on rainflow-counting and pseudo-damage calculations – without changing the damage content or the phasing between the channels. The method is applicable on both uni-axial and multi-axial load input signals. The LMS Falancs Stress & Strain option allows to refine the damage model used by taking into account mean-stress effects. With LMS TecWare Peak Valley Test Definition, uni-axial time signals are rainflow-counted and hysteresis filtered. The resulting rainflow matrix is converted into a series of peak-valley points – ready for input to a uni-axial test rig. Rainflow-based extrapolation can be easily introduced. This allows to take into account the statistical effects of a longer durability test. LMS TecWare Block Cycle Test Definition creates a damage equivalent constant-amplitude test – consisting of a user-definable mix of ranges, mean values and number of repetitions - from a uni-axial, variable amplitude loading. The default damage model as used can be overwritten by a user-defined damage model. As such constant-amplitude tests adapted to the specific properties of materials (e.g. rubber) can be derived. Features: * Dedicated batch programs with limited parameter setting encapsulating process from input signal definition and parameter setting to report generation * Different methods included for creating damage equivalent reduced-length tests * Methods working in time or rainflow domain, uni-axial or multi-axial * Multi-platform PC and UNIX Benefits: * Optimize existing test schedules by eliminating non-damaging parts of signals * Adaptable to the available test-infrastructure and test rig capabilities * Highly efficient and easy-to-use Solution Pack Content: * LMS TecWare Load Data Processing * LMS TecWare RP-Filter * LMS TecWare Block Cycle Test Definition * LMS TecWare Peak Valley Test Definition Solution Pack Options: * LMS TecWare Time Data Interface (EDAS, IBMI2, Micro Music FAMOS, MTS RPCIII, nCode .DAC, PIAS) * LMS FALANCS Stress & Strain * LMS TecWare MultiRain * LMS TecWare RainEdit/RainExtra * LMS TecWare CombiTrack >>>

CONNEX500™ DIGITAL MATERIALS - 3 D PRINTING SYSTEMS

Connex500™ Digital Materials Objet’s Digital Materials™ are composite materials fabricated by the Connex500™ 3-D printing system based on PolyJet Matrix™ technology. Digital Materials are made up of two FullCure modeling materials. The two materials are combined in specific concentrations and structures, to provide desired mechanical properties and to resemble the product’s target materials. This enables more realistic early-stage testing of the product. The main objective of digital materials, as composites, is to combine two different materials so that the result is a new material with characteristics different than those of the basic materials. Historically composite materials have always been around—for example; adding straw to mud for building stronger mud walls. Some more recent examples are carbon black in rubber, steel rods in concrete, sand mixed with cement/asphalt, etc. Composites are used in an increasing number of products, ranging from commonly found consumer goods to advanced aerospace structures. The Connex500™ 3-D Printing System can fabricate 21 different digital materials. >>>

DURABILITY TESTING SOLUTIONS - LMS/IST RS TWR STANDARD/ADVANCED

DURABILITY TESTING SOLUTIONS - LMS/IST RS TWR STANDARD/ADVANCED

An essential problem in durability testing exists in the accurate reproduction of test track loading histories on durability test rigs. The RS TWR (Time Waveform Replication) software was developed by two of the partners from The Durability Alliance – IST and LMS, with the specific objective to accelerate this process while safeguarding maximum accuracy. Reproducing field test conditions on durability test rigs is very challenging due to the high-amplitude related non-linear behavior of components and subassemblies under test. RS TWR accurately defines a system model which is used to experimentally define the rig-specific control signals through an iterative and flexible process. Its dedicated graphical user interface guides the user through the different phases of the drive file development process. In a first phase – system identification – a system model is created which models the test rig and test structure. In a second phase – target simulation – the drive files required to reproduce given road surfaces are determined. Through the tight integration of RS TWR with the IST RS LabSite durability software, the comparison of target and measured road profiles and the updating of rig control signals can be executed fully automatically. Once the prescribed correlation levels are reached, this iterative process is automatically stopped. Template-based interactions between IST TWR and IST’s digital Labtronic 8800 controller help engineers to set up test rigs quickly, enabling operators to efficiently generate test rig drive files and execute durability test campaigns. Features: * Integrated with IST RS LabSite durability test software and IST Labtronic 8800 digital controller * Process solution for drive file development * Powerful control algorithms – including non-square control * Accurate models based on MIMO identification * Fully automatic iteration process including convergence and divergence checks * Extensive simulation quality evaluation tools * Integrated data management * Templates for definition and storage of all setup parameters Benefits: * Reduces the time required to gain control of test rigs * Improves the accuracy of the simulation * Runs the test rig without operator interaction, while guaranteeing a safe operation * Durability or NVH specific views allow to get more out of test rig results * Efficient data handling * Applicable to a wide variety of test rigs Solution Pack Content: RS TWR Standard: * Up to 6 axis of control * Standard drive file development technology including non-square iteration RS TWR Advanced: * Unlimited number of control axis * Advanced drive file development technology (automated shaping of drive signals, adaptive modeling) Solution Pack Options: IST RS Rain * Damage ratio calculation * Automatic iteration based on damage ratio IST/LMS TecWare Rig Testing Bundle * See LMS TecWare Load Data Processing >>>
