D range of centrifugal pumps D - The standard range of hygienic pumps, which are manufactured from solid bar and have an excellent track record. There are 6 basic models D1, D2 / D121, D3, D4, D6 & D5 (the D6 is smaller than the D5). The D4 and D5 are also available with a volute cover for high flows. Available as flooded suction and AS scavenge versions. Note: in the majority of cases, we now recommend the updated D121 pump instead of the D2, and the newer H range of pumps instead of the D3, D4 & D6 pumps. Air Separator (AS) pump (right), which is designed to handle a mixture of air and liquid, eg for emptying product from road tankers, or for scavenging of vessels and pipelines in a CIP (Cleaning In Place) system. For applications where the liquid level is below the inlet of the pump, a liquid reservoir can be supplied to make the 'AS' pump self-priming.
