Well water is by far the most commonly used source of water for most civil and industrial applications where there is large availability of water in aquifers at low depth from the ground level. Well water is roughly defined by the following characteristics: The salinity is strictly dependant upon the chemical composition of the soil with which water is in contact. The Dissolved Solids content could be in the range 50 - 5,000 ppm Since there is no contact with air, well water is normally characterised by a low presence of micro-organisms, bacteria, algae, fungi. Turbidity and suspended solids are normally in the lowest range but concentration could rise if water is extracted just after the drilling of the well or in case the aquifer lowers due to excessive water suction. The presence of oils and organics in the well water is normally not likely to occur unless there is a possible source of contamination. Facet’s STP Series Sewage Treatment Plants for inland applications have been designed for gravity or pumping treatment of domestic sewage, and they're intended for surface installation.. These plants carry out the sewage treatment by biological means. STP units are of the "active sludge aerobic and extended aeration type," and they don't require dosing or other additives. The Plant is single-built in a closed steel module inside which are three chambers for aeration, settling and discharge-disinfection. Because everything is in one unit, this facilitates transport and installation. Every chamber has been provided with the necessary access and inspection registers. Modular construction allows for increased processing capacity by placing more units in parallel. The air diffusers responsible for the oxygenation and agitation of the water to be treated are placed within the aeration chamber. The biological filter and the pipes that re-circulate sludge and grease towards the aeration chamber are located in the settling chamber. The settling is pressurized in this chamber, facilitating the deposition of solids. All the instruments and control elements of the plant are housed inside a vandalism-resistent cabinet. The Balmoral Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) combines the efficiency of activated sludge aeration with batch treatment to provide exceptional effluent quality even under extreme loadings. Product Description BIO-SYSTEMS BIOBUG AD contains a specially formulated range of adapted high-performance microorganisms developed for use in the biological wastewater treatment of greases, fats and oils in anaerobic digesters. As well as microorganisms, BIO-SYSTEMS BIOBUG AD contains surface tension depressants and penetrants which loosen and liquefy heavy grease deposits, thereby assisting in their biodegradation. When used as directed BIO-SYSTEMS BIOBUG AD is safe. It is harmless to people, clothing and the environment and is completely biodegradable. When applied to effluent treatment facilities, BIO-SYSTEMS BIOBUG AD assists in: • Helping to establish a biomass capable of handling these difficult wastes. • Reducing the accumulation of unsightly deposits of grease and fat. • Increasing the efficiency of overloaded treatment systems. • Preventing the blocking, ponding and possible collapse of filter-bed media. • Significantly reducing odor problems. • Enhancing BOD and COD removal while improving sludge settlement.
