MULTIPURPOSE OIL HYCUT® ET
HYCUT® ET - a product for all applications
HYCUT® ET, the multipurpose oil for application as a hydraulic oil, machining oil, water-miscible cutting fluid and cleaning emulsion, HYCUT® SW as a
slideway oil, and ADDITIV ET are a product family for all metalworking applications. They feature low-foaming properties as cutting fluids and cleaning emulsions, even for low degrees of water hardness and under extreme load conditions. They give excellent lubricating and flushing properties and outstanding working tolerance and environmental characteristics, thanks to the use of synthetic ester oils and very advanced raw materials.
Modern production uses a wide range of different lubricants in machine tools. This inevitably leads to interface problems resulting from mixing of the products used.
Problem:
Incompatibilities lead to machine downtime, machining problems, short sump life, etc.
Consequence:
Higher production cost.
Solution:
Lubricants which are 100% compatible with one another or, better still, Multipurpose products.
Concept:
A 2-component system for use as a hydraulic oil, machining oil, a water-miscible cutting fluid and a cleaning emulsion.
Basis:
Synthetic ester oils, used as oil and in the cutting fluid concentrate.
Emulsion component:
ADDITIV ET, corrosion protection and pH value stability as the necessary components of the cutting fluid emulsion.
Benefits:
Synthetic ester oils combine the positive characteristics of both mineral based oils and of native ester oils, such as rapeseed oil. Emulsifiers are added to improve water miscibility and flushing capability, and to simplify washing processes.
Versatility:
HYCUT® ET can be used in a wide range of metalworking applications thanks to its ester oil base, its high viscosity index and different viscosity classes (6 - 500 mm²/s). It can be used to machine cast iron, steel, stainless steel, high-alloy steels, aluminium and aluminium alloys, magnesium, non-ferrous metals and specialty materials.
Cost-effectiveness:
Consumption and disposal quantities can be significantly reduced by multiple use of the Multipurpose oil (recycling of the hydraulic and machining oil and of the cleaning emulsion as cutting fluid emulsion) and by the elimination of problems with extraneous oil. Further savings are achieved in application, for example by low concentrations in operation, by greater process reliability, and by extremely good foaming characteristics.
Further peripheral benefits are the simplification or elimination of washing processes, and the reduction in care and cleaning effort for the machines, cutting-fluid system and the cutting fluid itself. Savings in use as a cutting-fluid or cleaning emulsion:

Health & safety and environment:
Unlike conventional, low-viscosity, mineral-oil based oils for honing, finishing, abrasive belt machining, etc., HYCUT® ET does not require hazard category labelling (Xn, R65), and is therefore not subject to the substitution requirement under the hazardous materials legislation (GefStoffV). HYCUT® ET/SW and ADDITIV ET are classified in water hazard category(WGK) 1. Ester oils, which are the basis of HYCUT® ET, are characterised by low evaporation tendency. This reduces the pollution load for machine operators and may permit consumption reductions of as much as 20%.Waste avoidance by recycling and re-use are essential both in terms of economics and for the environment. HYCUT® ET makes a major contribution to this, thanks to its multipurposecharacteristics and the avoidance of interface problems
