HYSTAT-A HYDROGEN STATION

HYSTAT-A HYDROGEN STATION

Hydrogenics' HySTAT-A Hydrogen Stations are based on proprietary pressurized IMET technology. IMET™ technology is pressurized alkaline electrolysis process that generates high purity hydrogen at pressures up to 25 bar (363 psi) directly from the electrolyzer module. This high quality hydrogen is obtained through the use of highly efficient inorganic membranes that serve to channel the hydrogen and oxygen produced during electrolysis. This superior IMET technology supports many HySTAT-A features. Virtually maintenance-free: Pumpless electrolyte circulation; minimal moving parts. On-site and on-demand production: Variable hydrogen production from 25 -100% of capacity. Reliable supply, and efficient delivery of hydrogen: High availability; efficiently manages hydrogen inventories. Flexibility to meet a customer’s specific needs: HySTAT-A is scalable and modular with individual modules producing from 10 Nm3 /h to 60 Nm3 /h of hydrogen. Units can be coupled for higher capacity. Multi-use system: IMET® also generates argon and oil-free oxygen. Additional purification packages can be provided. Easy to install: Delivered in plug & play packaging for indoor or outdoor use; minimal commissioning time; uses readily available water and electricity. Safe operation: Asbestos-free; meets international codes and standards (PED, TÜV, ASME, CE, UL, AU/NLZ, GOST,). Easy to monitor and control: Remote monitoring available; fully automated operation. >>>

HYSTAT™ COMPRESSION MODULE - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

HYSTAT™ COMPRESSION MODULE - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

The pressure at which the HySTAT™ Hydrogen Generator module delivers hydrogen is often suitable for direct use in industrial applications however higher hydrogen output pressures are frequently required for vehicle refueling and power applications. The standard HySTAT Compression Module, which features a diaphragm compressor, raises pressure to 430 bar (620 psi). Other compressor types, including reciprocating, can be integrated into the module as part of an optional package. The HySTAT Compression Module offers many unique features & benefits: * Diaphragm Compressor Option: o Superior life cycle cost o High purity hydrogen gas does not come into contact with lubricants o Highly reliable design for longer maintenance intervals o Flexible capacity range o Can accept inlet pressure * Reciprocating Compressor Option: o High levels of compression achieved with low power consumption o Different pressures can be achieved using the same Compression Module. Development of compression technology is currently under way to attain 700 bar (>10,000 psi). The Compression Module is enclosed in the HySTAT Hydrogen Generator module to minimize footprint and maximize efficiency. >>>

HYSTAT™ DISPENSER MODULE - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

HYSTAT™ DISPENSER MODULE - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

As part of a complete refueling station, the pressurized storage tanks supply hydrogen to a hydrogen dispenser which is used to refuel a hydrogen powered vehicle. Hydrogenics' HySTAT Fuel Dispenser module is available with a variety of options that meet the fueling needs of any customer. The Fuel Dispenser module includes a hose and nozzle, and system controls for the operation of the dispenser and the flow of hydrogen to a vehicle. Dispensers that are capable of providing hydrogen/natural gas blends are also available. The experience of using a HySTAT Fuel Dispenser is very similar to that of using a conventional natural gas dispenser. The user enables the dispenser from the user-friendly interface and attaches the nozzle to their vehicle's refueling receptacle. Hydrogenics' monitoring and control system automatically manages the rest of the fueling process. The system determines when the tank is full and automatically stops dispensing hydrogen. Many of the features and options of the HySTAT Fuel Dispenser are designed to make the fueling of a hydrogen-powered vehicle familiar, comfortable, and safe for customers. * Hydrogenics uses "hydrogen-only" nozzles that are designed specifically for hydrogen vehicles and come with a standard in-line break-away safety feature. * Mass flow meters are incorporated into the standard dispenser to ensure safe and accurate fills. * The hose and nozzle are designed to electrically ground the vehicle automatically. As with all fuels, hydrogen must be handled with respect. Safety precautions similar to those used at conventional gasoline stations also apply to hydrogen fueling stations. >>>

HYSTAT™ STORAGE MODULE - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

HYSTAT™ STORAGE MODULE - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

The HySTAT Storage Module is composed of one or more vessels mechanically connected and electronically controlled by the station's software. The storage module receives hydrogen either directly from the HySTAT Hydrogen Generator or from a separate storage tank. Hydrogen flow is scaled by customer requirement. The HySTAT Storage Module can be provided with either steel or composite vessels. Both options can be made available in either buffer or cascade configuration, depending on customer requirements. A buffer storage system stores the required amount of hydrogen using a simple configuration consisting of a series of interconnected tanks that are filled and emptied as if they were one large tank. Hydrogen enters the system via a single control valve, and is delivered from the rack through another control valve. During delivery, the pressure inside all the tanks drops simultaneously. This means that, to attain a certain desired pressure, the initial pressure in the tanks must be higher than the desired delivered pressure, or that the fill is assisted by simultaneous operation of a booster compressor. A cascade system consists of storage tanks arranged in a series of "banks" managed by a control system that determines which bank is able to receive or deliver hydrogen. When hydrogen is required, the first bank delivers hydrogen until the pressure inside this bank equals that of the receiving tank. As the pressure equalizes, the next bank begins to deliver its store of hydrogen, and so on. By automatically sequencing the banks in this manner, some hydrogen is always kept at a higher pressure so that more complete vehicle fills can be obtained from the same volume of hydrogen storage. >>>

HYSTAT™-P HYDROGEN STATION - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

HYSTAT™-P HYDROGEN STATION - HYDROGEN GENERATOR

HySTAT-P onsite generation products are based on water electrolysis, using Hydrogenics’ proprietary proton exchange membrane (PEM) stack technology. PEM electrolysis is showing early promise as a technology of choice for smaller scale hydrogen applications. Hydrogenics’ first demonstration HySTAT-P refueling station was installed in the fall of 2004, at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Canada. This HySTAT-P installation is currently refueling a range of hydrogen powered vehicles as part of Toronto’s Hydrogen Village initiative, providing a working example of what our future hydrogen infrastructure could look like. HySTAT-P technology is positioned to offer significant benefits including: * Smaller footprint resulting in lower real estate, installation, and maintenance costs * Versatility for incorporation into various applications * Ease of use and simple integration >>>
