AIR-OIL HEAT EXCHANGERS - SERIES AP WITH HYDRAULIC MOTOR
This type of exchanger has been designed for use on movable machines where battery feed is insufficient or when exchangers with direct current supply are inadequate to produce high thermic yields.
The radiative unit is of aluminium because this material is a very good conductor; providing high thermic yields and relatively compact over-all dimensions. Thanks to the particular construction of the radiative unit the exchangers of the series APL cope well with water hammer conditions which, at peak values, must not exceed the minimum allowable dynamic pressure of 20 bar. The maximum allowable static pressure is of 35 bar. It is recommended to fit a by-pass valve to avoid extreme back-pressures, particularly when the equipment is started with cold oil. For good exchanger working practice some oil rates are indicated in the tables. A very low flow rate oil speed creates considerable yield losses whereas a flow rate in excess of the suggested maximum causes pressure loss and does not substantially increase the thermal yield. The yield curves indicate the specific exchange capacity in kcal/h°C or in kW/°C subject to the different oil rates. To calculate the heat quantity that different exchangers are able to disperse it is sufficient to multiply such capacity by the difference between the required oil temperature and the summer ambient temperature. All components have been carefully chosen to ensure a reliable product. Fans are metallic, as are the protection grids for the hydraulic motor. Upon request a motor support can be supplied which prevents the drive shaft from radial stress. A thermostat with IP 65 protection and calibrated 47°C or 60°C can be supplied. To determine the correct air-oil exchanger we can supply a calculation program on CD-rom; by completing certain data it is possible to determine the correct exchanger and to obtain all the necessary parameters. The air-oil exchangers can be used to cool other kinds of fluids compatible with aluminium. For all applications, with the exception of oil cooling, it is recommended to consult our Technical Department.

Hydraulic-Pneumatic Interface Valves for Control Systems
This hydraulic, three-way, two position, normally closed, 316 SS valve permits a low-pressure pneumatic signal to control a
high-pressure-hydraulic signal. In this unique spool valve design, the usual pilot diaphragm is replaced by a piston. The use of a stainless steel piston and an O-ring or Teflon “cup” seal eliminates failures due to diaphragm leakage and incompatibility of diaphragm with process fluids. The high ratio of hydraulic power pressure to pilot control pressure insures safe operation and positive control under all conditions.

Design and Function
The hydraulic supply units
make hydraulic energy available for the operation of torsion motors and hydro swingers. At the same time, it takes care of the cooling and filtering of the hydraulic oil. It consists of the hydraulic power unit, and the control system, which are particularly optimized for the operation of GAT torsion motors. Due to a separate oil-coolant circuit, particularly good cooling and filtering performance can be attained. The modular construction allows precise adaptation to the required demands: the control system can be disassembled in order to monitor and control lubrication of the gears, the rotary drive, and the several individual drive systems. It is also possible to operate remotely.
Models
There are two different systems available for hydraulic energy supply: the series HAK was adapted to facilities with few test bench components and small flow rates, and therefore offers simple operation, compact dimensions, and excellent economic efficiency. For complex facilities, e.g. for dynamic torquing and with high rotation rates, the series HA is suitable. It delivers large flow rates and high cooling capacity.

DESCRIPTION
Series W2... poppet valves are self- contained cartridge units mounted in a body with an industry standard ISO 4401 size 3 manifold-mounting surface. They operate on the proven guided poppet principle and the guide stem requires only one seal. Coils can be replaced or changes to a different voltage and current (AC to DC or vise-versa) while the hydraulic system is pressurized. The 3 way / 2 position (3/2) and 4 way / 3 position (4/3) units can be supplied with poppets having closed crossover switching characteristics. These versions (all ports are isolated during valve change over) ensures no loss of pressure during switching. This is an important benefit in accumulator, low volume and clamping systems.

FILTERS WITH HYDRAULIC VACUUM
NOVOTECNIC has developed the type TADE HYDRAULIC VACUUM filters, for filtration of medium to large flows emulsions, synthetic solutions and other low viscosity liquids for which a medium to low
degree of filtration is required.
This type of filter consists of a dredged tank with a calibrated filtering grid at the bottom, below which is the vacuum chamber form where the filtered liquid is extracted by taking advantage of the vacuum produced by the suction of the distribution pumps.
Depending on the quality of filtration required, this type of filter can work using the actual grid, at the bottom of the dredged tank, as a filtering element or alternatively, a filtering fabric band is introduced between the scrapers of the dredged tank and the filtering grid.
The HYDRAULIC VACUUM filters are used in machining processes where the type of sludge produced has a low clogging tendency, as in the case of machined steel or aluminum sward.
Until some years ago, they were also used for filtration of cutting oils, but the new technologies have superseded their use for this purpose and precoat filters are now used.
