ALV/CGS-3 GONIOMETER SYSTEMS

ALV/CGS-3 GONIOMETER SYSTEMS

The ALV / CGS-3 Compact Goniometer is a self-contained system with 22 mW HeNe Laser, ALV-proprietary optical fiber based detector, APD-based single photon detector, ALV/LSE-5003 Electronics and ALV-5000/EPP Correlator. Due to it’s extremely compact size and small weight, it can be placed onto a “normal” table without the need of an additional breadboard or optical table. Since no user alignment of the system is required after delivery, it literally is a “ready to measure” instrument. Offering almost identical overall perfomance for simultaneous measurement of DLS & SLS data compared to the ALV/CGS-5022F, the optical detection was designed such that a significantly higher count rate per mW is obtained, leading to reduced measurement times for SLS measurement, while not sacrificing DLS accuracy at all. This, the extreme ease of use and the complete shielding of the unit, ensuring it is a Class 1 Laser Product, makes this goniometer a perfect choice for all those users not requiring the high modularity of the ALV/CGS-8F platform, but would rather like to use a state-of-the-art goiniometer system for their DLS & SLS measurements, simply to obtain best results possible. Of course it makes use of the identical software system as the ALV/CGS-5022F and ALV/CGS-500/F as well, ensuring that data taken on these two goniometer platforms is not only comparable, but even compatible. This holds true for most of the options available for the ALV/CGS-5022F as well, in particular the ALV/Cuvette Rotation and depolarized LS are supported by the ALV/CGS-3 as well (optional). >>>

LARGE GONIOMETER FOR RETROREFLECTIVITY STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT

LARGE GONIOMETER FOR RETROREFLECTIVITY STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT

Congress directed the U.S. Department of Transportation to establish "a standard for a minimum level of retroreflectivity that must be maintained for pavement markings and signs which apply to all roads open to public travel." The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) awarded the Optical Technology Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) a contract to develop a "National Calibration Facility for Retroreflective Traffic Control Materials." NIST in turn contracted with DSM to design and build a large, high-precision goniometer mechanism that will be the central system of this new National Calibration Facility. The goniometer provides closed loop control of six independent degrees of freedom and travels over 100 feet on precision rail assemblies. The system was successfully installed in the summer of 2003. >>>

ALV/CGS-8F GONIOMETER SYSTEMS

ALV/CGS-8F GONIOMETER SYSTEMS

The ALV / CGS-8F Compact Goniometer is the common platform for a different, simultaneous multi-detection goniometer systems. Based on a rotary disk allowing finest angular steps to be performed (rather than a rotary arm) it can implement up to eight parallel detection angles seperated each by 17° in angular space from to allow simultaneous measurement of Static and Dynamic Light Scattering at state-of-the-art quality level. Using the ALV proprietary ALV-Static & Dynamic Enhancer, all goniometer systems ensure optimum light collection efficiency at extremely high angular definition, unreachable by standard pinhole - lens - pinhole detection optics. Based on this platform, two products are offered, namely the ALV/CGS-8F/4 with four simulatenous detection channels and the ALV/CGS-8F/8 with eight simultaneous detection channels. ALV / CGS-8F The ALV / CGS-8F can be delivered either integrated with 22 mW HeNe laser and four or eight high-QE APD-based parallel detectors or with customer supplied lasers (please contact ALV for a list of laser that can be integrated into the system). All detectors are based on the ALV-Static & Dynamic Enhancer fiber-optical detector technology and separated to each other in 17°-steps (for eight detection angles) or 34° (for four detection channels) .In addition, the following options can be added: Fiber-optical beam-splitter based pseudo-cross correlation detector ALV/CRTU Cuvette Rotation/Translation Unit Glan-Thomson analyzor for depolarized LS experiments (either for a single detector or for all parallel detectors) High-temperature cell housing ALV/SIPC-II based single photon detectors instead of APD-based detectors >>>
