    HTceramix has its own unique stack based on its SOFConnex™ technology and HTc cells. All of HTc’ stack designs enable a high compactness of the whole stack achieving a power density of up to 1500 W/L. Stack tests have shown homogenous behaviour of cells in polarization cycles and OCVs exceeding one volt/cell. The use of the SOFConnex™ structure improves the thermal cycling tolerance of the stack, avoiding additional performance degradation during complete cycling. The R-design stack uses an internal manifold through feeding holes and is fuelled in a counter-flow configuration. HTc has over 4 years of experience using this design, and it is now principally used for materials testing. The S-design stack is more tolerant to thermal and redox cycling; can handle higher fuel utilizations; enables the possibility of recuperating the anode exhaust gas; and has a longer lifetime. It is used in HTceramix’ HoTboxTM and for applications such as combined heat and power or remote installations. The stacks are operated with a power density of >0.4W/cm˛ at a temperature below 800°C. Electrical efficiencies of 40% have been commonly reached. The stacks can be fuelled with hydrogen, reformed hydrocarbons and synthesis gas mixtures.     As part of a complete refueling station, the pressurized storage tanks supply hydrogen to a hydrogen dispenser which is used to refuel a hydrogen powered vehicle. Hydrogenics' HySTAT Fuel Dispenser module is available with a variety of options that meet the fueling needs of any customer. The Fuel Dispenser module includes a hose and nozzle, and system controls for the operation of the dispenser and the flow of hydrogen to a vehicle. Dispensers that are capable of providing hydrogen/natural gas blends are also available. The experience of using a HySTAT Fuel Dispenser is very similar to that of using a conventional natural gas dispenser. The user enables the dispenser from the user-friendly interface and attaches the nozzle to their vehicle's refueling receptacle. Hydrogenics' monitoring and control system automatically manages the rest of the fueling process. The system determines when the tank is full and automatically stops dispensing hydrogen.     The HySTAT Storage Module is composed of one or more vessels mechanically connected and electronically controlled by the station's software. The storage module receives hydrogen either directly from the HySTAT Hydrogen Generator or from a separate storage tank. Hydrogen flow is scaled by customer requirement. The HySTAT Storage Module can be provided with either steel or composite vessels. Both options can be made available in either buffer or cascade configuration, depending on customer requirements. A buffer storage system stores the required amount of hydrogen using a simple configuration consisting of a series of interconnected tanks that are filled and emptied as if they were one large tank. Hydrogen enters the system via a single control valve, and is delivered from the rack through another control valve. During delivery, the pressure inside all the tanks drops simultaneously. This means that, to attain a certain desired pressure, the initial pressure in the tanks must be higher than the desired delivered pressure, or that the fill is assisted by simultaneous operation of a booster compressor. A cascade system consists of storage tanks arranged in a series of "banks" managed by a control system that determines which bank is able to receive or deliver hydrogen. When hydrogen is required, the first bank delivers hydrogen until the pressure inside this bank equals that of the receiving tank. As the pressure equalizes, the next bank begins to deliver its store of hydrogen, and so on. By automatically sequencing the banks in this manner, some hydrogen is always kept at a higher pressure so that more complete vehicle fills can be obtained from the same volume of hydrogen storage. >>>

The CASE (cathode anode-supported electrolyte) is composed of an electrolyte (YSZ, 10µm) sandwiched between two electrodes, a perovskite porous cathode (LSM or LSF/LSC, 40µm) and the anode suport strucuture (NiO, YSZ, 215µm). Good mechanical stability is provided by the relatively dense anode structure; the thin anode hardly shows any gas diffusion limitation. Precise wet ceramic processing enables efficient use of raw materials and also increases the compactness of the stack. Cells are produced by anode and electrolyte co-casting and co-sintering followed by screen-printing of the cathode layer.
