The Alphasense Electrochemical range of Nitric Oxide sensors are available in both the companies 'A' and 'B' series sizes and are colour coded in light blue moulded tops. The NO sensors supplement the already established Toxic Gas Sensor ranges that include Carbon Monixide, Hydrogen Sulfide, Sulfur Dioxide and Chlorine. The 'A' series is also available as an oxygen sensor. The alphasense NO-A/B provides OEM's with a good, reliable sensor for use in a number of high volume applications. Strong signal levels combined with low zero current allows resolution to 200ppb (parts per billion) whilst giving linear outputs to as high as 250ppm (parts per million). The sensors are suitable for inclusion in fixed installation sensing heads, portable safety instruments and stack gas analysers. The sensors incorporate innovative catalyst technology, which reduces the effects of a number of common cross interference gases whilst ensuring batch-to-batch consistency and stable output. These sensors provide a significant improvement in stability of response with respect transient relative humidity changes. These sensors allow OEM's to design instrumnts that provide trouble free monitoring of the reduced allowable maximum exposure limit of 1.0ppm for Nitric Oxide. Physical robustness allows the sensors to be used in the most demanding environments. As with all other Alphasense sensors, the use of stabilisation racks to continuously monitor every sensor during initial conditioning ensures that only sensors operationg within specification are passed to the companies unique ATAV (Alphasense Test and Validation) system. The key operating characteristics for every sensor are recorded against the sensor serial number, which is bar coded onto the sensor. This data can be released at the time of despatch so that full traceability is maintained. >>>

CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2)

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is characterised by its rapid and efficient penetration in the area to be protected. It does not generate residue or decomposition products. At atmospheric pressure, carbon dioxide (CO2) is colourless, odourless, does not conduct electricity and is characterised by its rapid and efficient penetration in the area to be protected. Its density is roughly 50% higher than that of air. CO2 is stored in liquid form in high pressure cylinders. CO2 extinguishes the fire through physical means in accordance with two main principles. The first is through the reduction of the oxygen concentration inside the premises from 21% to below 15%, a level at which most fires cannot maintain combustion. The second mechanism is through cooling and heat absorption. Inhalation of CO2, even in low concentrations, can cause asphyxia. This must be taken into account when protecting occupied spaces. With the necessary safety precautions in place, CO2 has been efficiently used for more than 50 years to protect areas such as transformers, archives, electrical hazards, tape storage and computer rooms. In some countries the regulations prohibit the automation of CO2 systems in occupied areas. Other countries allow it providing the area to be flooded can be evacuated when the alarm sirens go off. The CO2 systems used by LPG Técnicas en Extinción de Incendios, S.A. are equipped with two kinds of valves entirely developed by us and which are certified by top independent agencies. In order to monitor the contents of the extinguishing agent in the cylinders, LPG uses a weighing system via a load cell. This permits real-time monitoring of the contents and status of the CO2 cylinders. It does not leave residue It does not generate decomposition products when in contact with flames.
