BISTABLE LINEAR SOLENOID - ERB 35 SERIES

BISTABLE LINEAR SOLENOID - ERB 35 SERIES

Made according to the following norms: DIN VDE0580, NFC79300 y UNE-EN 60204-1.. Bistable solenoid is a simple effect product, the stroke from the initial position (s) to the end is made by a direct or retified electrical polarized signal. To return to the initial position it is necessary to send an electrical signal of inverse polarity (direct or alternating) equal to the nominal voltage, this signal will only vary the force of the magnet, it will not produce any returning or repulsion force. To make the plunger return to its initial position it is necessary to use external forces such as a spring. CE-This product is made according to the 73/23/CEE Low Voltage European Guideline about electrical appliance for certain limits of voltage and modification 93/68/CEE. The fulfilment of the 89/336 CEE (electromagnetic compatibility) norms must be assured by the user. BI-STABLE LATCHING SOLENOID

BI-STABLE LATCHING SOLENOID

The product range of Isliker Solenoids includes, linear solenoids, rotary solenoids, permanent retaining solenoids and custom solenoids made to customer requirements. Solenoids are available for a range of voltage applications including 12V solenoids and 24V DC solenoids or 230V AC. Solenoids can be made in a magnetic self-holding or linear latching solenoids style. The position of the solenoid plunger is maintained without the need for continuous application of current. The solenoid plunger will hold its start and stop position without the need for continuous application of current, the coil is then supplied with a short pulse to counteract the latching effect. These solenoids are completely free from the effects of residual magnetism. Technical details are in our product catalogue. Special models of solenoids are possible. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your specific design requirements with you. The following checklist supports us in our discussion. Open frame return stroke latching solenoid for highest demands. Two discreet positions maintained without the continuous application of current. >>>

ALNICO MAGNETS

ALNICO MAGNETS

For over 50 years an acknowledged leader in the field of permanent magnets, Arnold continues its tradition of superior quality and value with the full line of Alnico products. One of the oldest members of our magnet family, Alnico remains the workhorse of the permanent magnet industry and can be relied upon to deliver impressive flux density at an economical price. Alnico also boasts the lowest temperature coefficient of any commercial magnet material (.02% per degree centigrade) allowing for excellent stability over a wide temperature range. Alnico has experienced renewed interest in recent years in such temperature-sensitive applications as hall-effect and MR-based automotive and electronic sensors, in addition to the traditional magnetron, TWT amplifiers, actuators, motors and instruments applications that have long relied upon Alnico. DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS Because Alnico magnets are coarse-grained, hard and brittle, they cannot be drilled or conventionally machined. Given these mechanical properties, Alnico parts are not normally used as structural members. Where a choice exists, select simple shapes. Slots are preferred over holes. Cross sections of less than .125" (3.18 mm) should be avoided. Finished surfaces, when required, may be produced by grinding; however, for many applications, the "as cast" or "as sintered" surface yields a satisfactory result at a significantly lower cost. To facilitate mounting and give adequate protection to the magnet, special assemblies such as rotors and magnetron magnets may be supplied with an aluminum jacket. Additionally, low carbon steel pole pieces may be attached to magnet pole faces by adhesive bonding or with studs or bolts. Plastisol or paint can be applied for improved appearance. MAGNETIZATION The most efficient use of Alnico requires that it be magnetized after the magnet has been assembled with its pole pieces into the final magnetic circuit. (Shipping the product non-magnetized also eliminates the need for special packaging, and prevents contamination by stray iron-chips, etc.) Magnetic saturation at the end-use location requires the application of a magnetizing force 4 to 5 times greater than the coercive force of the material. For Alnico 5, a magnetizing force of 3000 oersteds (240 KA/m) is recommended. For Alnico 8, the magnetizing force should be at least 7000 oersteds (560 KA/m). The magnetizing force need be applied only momentarily. Thus, impulse magnetizers employing a capacitor discharge are commonly used. Direct current magnetizers are also effective. STABILITY AND TEMPERATURE EFFECTS Alnico magnets offer excellent stability with respect to temperature changes: reversible change is 0.02% per degree Centigrade. Heating may produce an irreversible loss of magnet strength. The magnitude of loss depends upon the dimensions of the magnet and its composition, but is usually less than 5%, and may be recovered by remagnetization. At temperatures exceeding 1000oF (538oC), a metallurgical change takes place which causes magnetic strength to reduce rapidly. This change will not be recovered by remagnetization. External magnetic fields can also induce partial demagnetization. In some critical applications, it is desirable to stabilize the magnet by intentionally reducing magnetic output by 5% to 10%. Such stabilization may reduce, or even eliminate, the effect of stray external fields. >>>

AC LINEAR SOLENOIDS SERIES NT

AC LINEAR SOLENOIDS SERIES NT

This Solenoid Series has been specifically designed for maximum AC performance. Both frame and plunger are of laminated steel construction, made of special steel featuring high magnetic permeability with low magnetic losses. Solenoids have been designed for use in any position, being able to originate an axial pull action. Coils have Class F insulation. Performance, as shown in the following diagrams, is always referred to a temperature rise of 80°C in open air, with 35°C ambient temperature and coil fed at 105% of rated supply voltage (as per VDE 0580). Since the mechanical energy produced by a solenoid is constant, any amount of this force eventually unutilised by relevant application will be expended under form of impact force. As a consequence, every application should correctly use the smallest available solenoid performing the required work without exceeding the maximum admitted working temperature. To select the right solenoid, the exact determantion of duty cycle is equally essential. Whenever the maximum cycle time is exceeding 300 seconds, a continuously rated coil solenoid (ED = 100) must be used. >>>

SPINNING / FAST STEPPING ROTARY FILTER CHANGER - C104

SPINNING / FAST STEPPING ROTARY FILTER CHANGER - C104

Our six position rotary filter changer is designed for use in both photometric and imaging systems. Continuous drive is the best solution for photometric measurements, and rotor speeds from less than 4 to over 200 revolutions per second are possible with our system. The low end of this speed range also allows use with a video camera at normal frame rate. For data acquisition at still lower speeds, two or more consecutive samples can be combined together. This incurs no penalty for photometric measurements (in fact it can be very desirable when differential or ratiometric measurements are being made), but for camera measurements a longer acquisition time for each frame may be desirable. This is because the frame readout process introduces additional noise in the image, so it may be preferable to acquire single frames over a longer period instead of averaging several individual frames at normal rate. The C104 filter changer combines the benefits of precise continuous operation, with the ability to make rapid discontinuous movements from any filter position to any other. This is of particular benefit in imaging applications where rapid, stepwise filter changes are required but, the time needed for data acquisition may be variable and prolonged. The new assembly is controllable for photometric purposes, directly from switches on the front panel or by computer through our standard interface. Additional interfacing has been catered for, allowing the rotor to be programmed externally for imaging applications, or for use with other third party products. This link can be made via a 16 or 32 bit control bus using a standard 37 way D connector (details on request). A suitable control card and Windows driver DLL's are also available. The benefits of our rotary filter changer are as follows:- Continuous spinning operation at speeds from 3 up to over 200 revs/sec. Rotor speeds selectable via the on board frequency generator, or by direct synchronisation to an external source. The internal frequency generator can operate from 0 - 99.9 Hz or from 0 - 999 Hz, as required. Worst case transition times in discontinuous mode of >>>
