ATLAS IV Logger Outstations are housed in wall mounted steel IP55 enclosures normally located adjacent to the meters being monitored or at some other convenient point to minimise plant cabling costs. A typical Logger Outstation will have 40 inputs in addition to the half-hour synchronisation pulse from the Electricity Board metering but can have 8, 40, 72 or 104 inputs. Multiple Logger Outstations can be readily accommodated and there is virtually no limit to the number of meters that can be monitored. These Logger Outstations need not be at the same geographical location, modem communication is a simple option. The Logger Outstations are normally mains powered but in the event of local power loss ATLAS IV loggers will continue to operate fully for up to 5 days subject to the condition of their own trickle charged batteries. The ATLAS series system software provides a warning of battery operation to initiate user investigation. For most applications it is assumed that pulses will be accumulated into half hour [15 minutes is an option] consumption periods, however real-time, on-line, minute by minute, monitoring of all inputs can be carried out when more detailed knowledge of plant operation is required. With 'half hour' monitoring the Logger Outstation has memory capacity to provide for a minimum of one month of data before it is necessary for the System Computer to copy this recorded data, if required additional memory can be added to increase the period of data stored at any time in the logger. >>>

SURFACE FINISH Coated with grey epoxi polyester powder (similar to 7042 RAL) with coarse texture, made by electrostatic projection and dry into an oven to 180-200ºC.To obtain a perfect degreasing and absolute absence of dirt and dust, a pre-treatment is carried out before the surface finish, which consists of a neutral-type degreasing followed by a non-chromic conversion to aluminium (i.e. no damage to the enviroment), finished whith a dry to 80ºC. This treatment provides colour with an excellent resistance against UV light and temperature changes, as well as a high protection against chemical agents (most of acids, alkalis and oils at room temperature), saline mist and wet environments. CLOSURE By means of captive flush screws. Captivity prevents screw from loss. Screws are manufactured in a steel that has been provided with a D-1000 anti-corrosion treatment, an metallic-grey-colour inorganic non-electrolytic coating consisting of zinc, aluminium and chrome oxide layers. This treatment protects metallic parts against corrosion thanks to an electrochemical process: the cathodic protection, that provides a high resistance against bimetallic corrosion with aluminium. The resistant finish in epoxi polyester powder together with the coating of the screws stock allow boxes series 3000 to pass with success the test of 1000 hours in chamber of neutral saline mist according to ISO 9227:90 (equivalent to standard UNE 112017:92). WATERTIGHTNESS An elastomeric gasket embedded in the cover provides the box with a degree of protection of IP-65, according to UNE 20324, CEI 529 and EN 60529. By order, IP-67 protection grade can be supplied. ENTRIES The number of entries that may be carried out is indicated in the general characteristics of each box. Entries may be threaded following several standars, being the most common in metric thread according to ISO 261 and Pg thread according to DIN 40430. FIXING Wall mounting by means of adjustable lugs in order to place the box in any position. MOUNTING PLATE Optional. Construction and applications Single conductor cables manufactured in the cross-section ranges up to 1000 mm² and up to 1200 mm² as multiple conductor cables. Ideally suited for mains frequency applications, e.g. in induction plants in the steel, foundry, non-ferrous metal or glass melting industries, but applications are also feasible in graphite furnaces. Our cables are used wherever high currents are transmitted with relocatable loads or in adverse deployment conditions in heating operations. As a result of the construction selected for the inside conductor, combined with the special water-cooling hoses and our manufacturing technology, we offer extremely flexible, space-saving components for high current transmission. Connectors and cooling All standard connectors are manufactured from E-Cu material and are crimped on the E-Cu conductor without soldering. Using druseidt crimping technology, only materials of the same conductance value are connected together, without the use of additional materials, such as solder or welding additives. This ensures the best possible loss-free current transmission. The geometry and positioning of crimping facilitates the best possible coolant water throughput. Coolant water connection holes / hose nipples Thread holes of a sufficient size are made in the connectors to hold hose nipples. The cable is delivered without nipples as standard. These can be additionally ordered as accessories. It is also possible to set the cooling holes at other orientations than the standard 90° or to change the thread size. Coolant water hoses The flexible coolant water hoses we use are fitted with additional heat protection against radiated heat and liquid metal splashing. The hose casing is flame retardant and self-extinguishing. The breakdown rating is 6 kV/mm. The maximum permissible operating pressure for the cable is 6 bar. All cables are tested with a pressure of 10 bar prior to shipping. Cable with additional shims To ensure secure fixture, especially in the case of long water-cooled high-current cables, all single conductor cables can be fitted with one or more shims. These additional solid parts fitted in the conductor guarantee easy fitting at the labelled points by means of clamping or holding devices. Squeezing the hose together and the ensuing damage, as well as the reduction in water flow throughput, are thereby avoided. Special designs and cable repairs In addition to our standard designs, we also manufacture all cable cross-sections with connectors, as well as offering customised designs (e.g. replacement parts for all common electro-furnaces from the well-known manufacturers).
