Shaped LCDs
EM LCDs are not bound to the traditionnal rectangular shape. They can be delivered in several shapes ideally tailored to the space or design requirements of the customer's product. Sometimes, rectangular LCDs consume to much space or surface; custom shaped LCD offer an elegant alternative. EM has developed manufacturing techniques which allow the production of glass LCDs in several shapes.
Holes
Some applications require a pass through in the LCD glass for mechanical and electrical connections. EM is able to make holes in the LCD glass itself.
Customer specific
Most of EM's LCD products are customer specific designs. EM is used to accomodate to the particular requests and to engineer solutions, which optimally fit the customer's requirements. For TFT solutions, the customization is performed around standard TFT panels.

LIGHTING CONTROL PANELS - ILIGHT
ILight is introducing a new range of lighting control panels at the Integrated Systems Europe 2007 exhibition. The rear of the panels is shaped to fit the German style round back boxes commonly
fitted in continental Europe.
These panels mean that installers in Europe can save time and effort since they won't have to replace existing back boxes, said Peter van der Kolk, iLight's European business development manager. They also overcome the problem of sourcing UK back boxes on the continent.
The European panels also have another innovation. The LEDs incorporated in the panels can be dimmed if required, which can be an advantage when used in a dark environment such as a bedroom.
The panels' functions are the same as for iLight's other panel ranges. They include up to 20 configurable internally illuminated push buttons on a double gang panel and 10 on a single gang unit. They are fully configurable, including room joining, sequencing and programmable logic functions.
The European panels are available in 15 different finishes, with colour coordinated push button caps and integral blue LED indicators.
iLight is also introducing an architrave control panel at Integrated Systems Europe. This thin and stylish panel, with its own back box, is designed to be mounted in narrow spaces such as in a door frame. Available with up to seven buttons, it also features dimmable LEDs, and comes in a choice of attractive finishes.
