    Water Cut Off Mastic. Where the roof to be covered with the One Piece EPDM covering adjoins an existing roof which does not form art of the current scope of work (eg terraced garage roof) then a Water Cut Off Mastic should be applied. This mastic is deposited in beads in place of Decking Adhesive at the edges and covered with the rubber membrane. A smooth clamping batten of treated timber or similar is screwed to the deck so as to compress the beads to form a seal. (The fastener heads need to be below the surface of the batten). A covering strip of EPDM should then be bonded over the smooth batten and onto the deck either side to weatherproof the batten, as if it were a rubber to rubber join. >>>
