The majority of components connected to a backplane are connected using solderless pressfit technology. Two-row power taps featuring either an elastic pressfit zone or soldering termination were developed by ERNI for connecting power supply lines. Cable plugs or terminal sockets can be optionally used for cable termination. The power taps can either be connected via screw or plug-type terminals with cable lugs or flat terminal sockets. For versions featuring 6 pressfit pins, the max. current is 30A at 20°C ambient temperature. Versions featuring 10 pins can withstand 40A at 20°C.
