A100 AND A100H PORTON™ ANEMOMETERS
The Porton™ Anemometer is a highly sensitive but robust transducer in which the rotational speed of a 3-cup rotor is measured by means of a photo-electronic pulse generator and ratemeter. An
analogue d.c. voltage output is obtained which is substantially linear with respect to windspeed allowing accurate averaging of windspeed data.
The standard range A100 instrument gives 0..10v for 0..100Knots, the high range A100H instrument gives 0..7.5v for 0..75m/s. For low windspeed use, variants are available giving increased output voltages.
All rotors are supplied with individual calibration data traceable to national standards, and the low torque offered by the precision ball-race mounted shaft ensures a low thresholdspeed (0.15m/s) and good repeatability.
The small size and light weight of the A100 series anemometers together with the unique gravity sensitive fastener for the rotor facilitates use in portable applications.
These instruments also feature a remote calibration system.
Construction is from anodised aluminium alloys, stainless steels and weather resisting plastics for exposed parts. Precision corrosion resistant ball-races and a stainless steel shaft enable the R30 rotor response to produce a highly sensitive yet robust instrument suitable for continuous exposure to the weather.

LABORATORY IDC211 MOISTURE METER
Laboratory IDC211 moisture meter Description
The IDC211 moisture meter is designed for the rapid analysis of water content in powders and granules, and provides measurements that are insensitive to
sample preparation, including variations in bulk density. Samples are simply poured into an appropriate measurement cup (supplied) which is then positioned on the meter, and the moisture content indicated on the digital display. Pre-set calibrations for different materials can be entered into the computer memory, making this a versatile device for a range of materials. The IDC211 moisture meter is suitable for the measurement of a variety of materials, including sugar, sand, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and other materials with low to super low moisture content.

How the meter works
The meter is based on an open-ended resonator, in which the coupling of electromagnetic energy between the test material and the meter is via the fringing fields from the open resonator to the sample cup. These fields act as an ‘effective’ capacitance and conductance, and determine the values of f and Q for the resonator, which in turn can be related to the moisture content of the material under test, via predetermined calibration constants. These calibration constants are remarkably stable, and are much less dependent on sample preparation than alternative measurement technologies, based on the direct measurement of resistance/conductance or capacitance.

Description
The Kestrel 1000 Pocket Anemometer is a small electronic rotating vane type of anemometer that can be easily carried in a pocket. It uses high precision jewel bearings and a light weight impeller to provide accurate wind and air flow measurements even at low speeds. The impeller assembly is replaceable by the user in the case of damage.
Low power microprocessor technology is used to provide speed, maximum speed, average speed and units selection; functions normally only found on more expensive instruments. The liquid crystal display has large 10mm high digits for clear readout.
Power is from an easily replaceable standard lithium coin type cell that will typically give up to 400 hours of operation. The instrument automatically switches off if no keys are pressed for 30 minutes
The Kestrel Pocket Anemometer is made from high impact injection moulded plastic and corrosion resistant materials with the electronics fully sealed. It will float if accidentally dropped into water. There is a hard cover for protection when not in use and a lanyard is provided for added security.
Operation
Two buttons on the front of the instrument mean operation is extremely simple. One button (ON) is used to switch on/off and the other (MODE) is used to select the display of current, maximum or average air speed.
Holding the ON button down and pressing the MODE button selects the required units.

The ETI 8901 hand held combined therma-anemometer and thermometer is an accurate, general purpose vane air speed meter that simultaneously displays both air flow measurement and temperature.
The instrument measures airflow over the range of 80-6900 feet/minute or 0.4-35 metres/second, with a resolution of 1 feet/minute or 0.01 metres/ second and temperature over the range of -10 to +50°C or °F (switchable) with a resolution of 0.1°C/°F.
The ETI 8901 is housed in a robust ABS case and features a large, custom LCD display with hold, low battery, average, max/min and air volume indication. The therma-anemometer incorporates a remote probe and calculates air velocity averages for multi-point readings and has a RS232 output. The ETI 8901 therma-anemometer is ideal for ventilation surveys, air conditioning, heating and environmental monitoring. The unit is supplied with a protective carrying case.
