    Exhibitor A Taste of Corsica (Stand 462) Name Brasserie Pietra Description In 1992, in Corte, central Corsica, Armelle and Dominique SIALELLI decided to develop a Corsican beer, inspired from the Island rich terroir and made from chestnuts. After just 4 years of research and feasibility studies, the Brasserie Pietra was born with the Pietra beer, the star product of the brewery. The Brasserie Pietra is 100% Corsican. In 1996, they produced 2500 hl of beer and today, the Brasserie Pietra produces 32000 hl. The company offers 2 beers, famous worldwide for their quality and unique taste - The Pietra beer is a speciality bottom-fermentation beer with 6° alcohol strength and a beautiful amber colour. It is brewed following the traditional methods with carefully selected malts and Corsican chestnuts flour. The chestnut is used as an ingredient and not as a flavour. Powerful, fine and smooth, with a touch of bitterness, the Pietra beer reveals all its generosity when serves very chilled. - The Colomba, is a white beer of 5° alcohol strength, brewed from barley and wheat malt, flavoured with herbs from the Corsican maquis. A delicate blend of strawberries tree, myrtle and juniper is prepared in a large tea ball and left to infuse in the kettle while cooking the wort. This exclusive recipe has been recognised by the specialists as the best white beer of England in 2003 by the GastroPub magazine. >>>
