Our 24V 150Ah Red Flash™ battery system provides standby power at level crossings. The Red Flash™ battery directly replaces conventional wet NiCd and flooded lead acid batteries. During the last twelf month the prices for lead acid batteries tripIed. This let to a price rice for DC-UPS systems which are backed-up with lead acid accumulators. One reason more for the J. Schneider Elektrotechnik GmbH to counter this development with the extension of the C-TEC-series. The new module C-TEC 2402 is a capacitor buffer module with ultra capacitors which may provide 0,5 KJ respectively 500 Ws as energy storage. Supplied with 24 V DC it is suitable for remote control systems, modems, small contactors, IPC-applications and other more. With the C-TEC 2402 24V can be backed-up between 10 seconds and several minutes depending on the load.
