FLEXBEAM BARRIER SYSTEM

FLEXBEAM BARRIER SYSTEM

FLEXBEAM is a new untensioned corrugated barrier system offering wider flexibility in application and is the ONLY N2 UK SYSTEM TO HAVE ALL ASI A APPROVAL. Hill & Smith has spent in excess of £2 million testing and developing the EN1317 compliant system to ensure the product's maximum safety potential. FLEXBEAM is developed around the familiar Z shaped post and W beam profile with a series of post mounting slots along the centre line of the beam, enabling the installation of posts at different pitch centres. By increasing the strength of the post, FLEXBEAM offers an increased performance with fewer component parts - only 2 beam lengths. The posts are available for setting in concrete; driving into the ground; or surface mounted. FLEXBEAM SYSTEM BENEFITS Compliant to a number of HA specifications Interchangeable verge and central reservation posts Low maintenance - untensioned Seamless transitions Faster installation Approved for all ground types Value engineered Economical solution Developed by the market leader Only N2 UK system to have all ASI A approval, as preferred by EN1317 Fewer component parts - only 2 beam lengths Full integration with existing systems Longer beams - up to 4 m Fewer joints Safe lifting weights Curved detail >>>

LITEMAST - FOLD 'N ROLL

LITEMAST - FOLD 'N ROLL

The machined hinge corners on the ProBase allow the tower to be folded directly without needing to be broken down for transport. This means that the LiteMast 4.5m will fit easily into a Sprinter van whilst complete, and the 7.5m and 9.5m masts can be folded and transported direct in a 7.5t truck. A complete set of rolling castors brackets are available for each mast, as an optional extra (contact us for price). >>>

TENSIONED CORRUGATED BARRIER (TCB)

TENSIONED CORRUGATED BARRIER (TCB)

This type of barrier is the most frequently seen on the UK highways. It is a corrugated steel strip 310 mm wide and mounted 610 mm above ground on Z shaped posts. TCB absorbs impact by deflecting as a whole and assists the vehicle to decelerate, whilst guiding it back towards the carriage-way in a gradual and controlled manner. This principle is best applied to long straight runs on motorways. It should not normally be installed on a radius of less than 120 m. There is no maximum installation length for TCB, but the approach/departure ends must be anchored at ground level to heavy-duty end posts or to full height anchors (a departure from standard is required). The tensioner units consist of two M24 bolts installed in special steel brackets fitted into the rear corrugations of the main beam elements. These tensioner units are located at 70 m intervals along the length of the barrier. >>>

TRANZFLEX TRANSITION BARRIER

TRANZFLEX TRANSITION BARRIER

TRANZFLEX is again a further development of FLEXBEAM. It has been successfully tested as a transition between Hill & Smith FLEXBEAM safety barrier and sister company Varley & Gulliver's bridge parapets to EN1317. The system offers this transition solution from road-way to bridge-way, and has been designed with gradually closing post spacing. The transition strengthens as it approaches the parapet, guiding the vehicle in a safe and controlled manner. The overall length is 16 m. HA engineered barrier solutions are providing this service, however TRANZFLEX is the first transition barrier of its type to be EN1317 approved for use, and has additional benefits compared to its traditional competitors. Similar to FLEXBEAM and developed around the familiar Z shaped post and W beam profile, TRANZFLEX is easy to install with fewer component parts compared to the HA designed transitions and it can be installed with driven posts, eliminating the need for a concrete foundation (unless otherwise required). >>>

REINFORCED BOLLARDS - RSJ INSIDE 114MM O.D
PLAIN STEEL BOLLARD.

REINFORCED BOLLARDS - RSJ INSIDE 114MM O.D PLAIN STEEL BOLLARD.

The most common way to reinforce standard bollards is for them to be filled with concrete durring installation and supplied with a loose cap. The other option for reinforced bollards is for them to have an RSJ or internal steel core inside. The table below is a list of options available. Only available for ragged bollards. The steel cores are supplied with no cap to allow for filling with concrete if required. It is recommended the RSJ and steel cores are set between 500mm - 600mm below ground. >>>
