Top quality: automatic collision checking and avoidance in hyperMILL® The collision check and avoidance is one of the most important preconditions for ensuring safe processes when performing 5axis machining on deep cavities, domes with steep walls and undercuts or when performing 3D machining on difficult-to-reach areas with woodruff and lollipop milling tools. hyperMILL® automatically calculates the milling paths for every machining cycle whilst taking into account the collision check and active collision avoidance strategies. If the system recognizes a collision area, the milling path for the segment can be split into different programming processes for further machining steps. However, it is often possible to avoid collisions by using a longer clamping for the tool or by using different holder. hyperMILL® offers users three options in the case of a holder collision: Abort the calculation before the first point of collision Continue the calculation using the Split feature: The toolpath will be calculated beyond the point of collision, but these results will not be output. Thanks to the path tracking cycle for a machining sequence, this 'masked toolpath' can then be used with different tools, shaft length or another holder. This considerably reduces the amount of programming required. Continue the calculation using the Clip feature: The part with which the tool or holder collide is not included in the calculation. The collision model developed by OPEN MIND Technologies AG opens up alternative and more efficient machining strategies. There is no longer the need for multiple clampings or complicated programming with tilted tools. >>>

The NXE-EDH Energy Data Hub is a next generation Web-enabled device for the centralised collection, presentation and control of energy data. The NXE-EDH combines many previously separate energy measurement, presentation and control functions into a single powerful device. The device acts as an energy data hub collecting metering information from a variety of primary and sub metering sources which is then stored in the on-board high capacity SQL database. This data can then be presented on a standard Web browser as energy profiles, alerts, dynamic Sankey diagrams or as automatic Monitoring and targeting (aM&T) data. The NXE-EDH can also include a special version of Altitude Web based control and monitoring software for Building Automation Systems. Altitude includes drivers for all leading Building Management Systems (BMS) enabling the BMS to be used to record energy consumption data for the connected plant and equipment. In addition the plant operation data such as run times (for virtual energy meters), valve & damper positions, boiler and chiller operation can all be viewed in real time or trended along with energy consumption to rapidly identify operational and strategy problems that cause excess consumption and cost. Altitude also includes standard applications for browser-based, real-time graphics, alarm management, data logging, time scheduling and setpoint control. The NXE-EDH provides a highly scalable solution in one unit that can deliver data logging, energy profiling and alerts locally with the ability to fully integrate with an aM&T on a central server. The NXE-EDH can also interface to a Building Management Systems or individual items of plant to provide browser based control and monitoring capability both locally and remotely. Meter Data The NXE-EDH connects to a multitude of meter data sources providing ultimate flexibility of meter data collection including: NXE-LEM Wireless Mesh clip on Current Transformers (CT’s). NXE-OMR Optical Meter Reading device for devices with no pulse output or data interface. Pulse meter inputs, local to the NXE-EDH or distributed via communication methods below. Electricity meter FLAG data from any UK electronic meter. Modbus meters. Meter Communications The NXE-EDH reads the meter data using many communications media and protocols: ZigBee Wireless Mesh, an intelligent self forming wireless network providing low cost resilient communications. IP communications via corporate intranet or Internet. Mains communication (powerline), uses the existing electricity power cables for communications. Modbus networks. Serial communications (FLAG). Interfaces to any UK electronic electricity meter. Radio communications via license free radio and GSM/GPRS Data Storage The NXE-EDH collects data at specified intervals (typically every ½ hour for meters) and stores the data into an onboard SQL database. The database features huge data capacity of up to 4GB sufficient to store many years of data. Data may be automatically transferred to a remote database for backup, archive and for multi-site analysis. Data Presentation The NXE-EDH includes energy profiling and alarming features on board. The NXE-PLL is a Powerline Data Logger developed specifically for automatic meter reading (AMR) applications. The NXE-PLL is an ideal solution for retrofit automatic meter reading applications as no new field cabling is required; the device communicates using the existing electricity cables dramatically reducing installation costs. Up to four pulse output meters may be connected to the NXE-PLL, meter data is recorded in the logger and transmitted over the existing mains cabling to a data server for analysis.
