The effectiveness of the Air Knife can be explained by the special design of the air discharge nozzle which creates the so-called “coanda effect”. Measuring principle of the Ga2O3-sensor for COe measurement In general, a metal oxide sensor consists of an active layer, which resistance changes when exposed to the gas being measured. This unique semiconductor gas sensor is operated at high temperatures approx. 750°C. Ga2O3 sensors show faster response and recovery times and lower cross sensitivity to humidity than other sensors. Additionally, Ga2O3 based sensors show stable long-term sensor properties even in flue gases containing of sulphur and dirt e.g. found in fuel oil burners. Furthermore, the sensor has an excellent performance and measurement repeatability. The benefits of the Ga2O3 cell compared to other materials are the physical and electronic characteristics of the material. Compared to other commercially available metal oxide sensors, Ga2O3 sensors provide a series of unique product features: • Ga2O3 sensors do not require any pre-aging or conditioning as some other metal oxide sensors. They are completely stable from “first use” and measure accurately within a few seconds from start up. • Ga2O3 sensors show faster response and recovery times than other comparable sensors. • They are almost insensitive to humidity changes. • The selectivity and sensitivity can be controlled by the use of catalytic filter layers. • Ga2O3 sensors have excellent manufacturing characteristics that produce consistent performance for the sensor resistance and operating sensitivity. • Ga2O3 sensors are also stable in atmospheres with low O2 concentration (< 0.1 Vol %). MÜTEK PCD-04 PARTICLE CHARGE DETECTOR ... KNOWS WHAT'S IN SOLUTION The Mütek PCD-04 Particle Charge Detector measures colloidally dissolved substances in a process sample. It is a standard tool for detecting anionic trash levels as well as for characterizing chemical additives. Equipped with an optional pH probe, the pH value of samples can be monitored and the isoelectric point be determined. To measure charge the sample material has to be titrated in the PCD measuring cell. Highest accuracy and reproducibility is achieved by combining the Mütek PCD-04 with the automatic titrator Mütek PCD-T3. This set-up is widely used around the world in: R&D labs of chemical suppliers and paper mills Universities, institutes, schools Applications outside the paper industry making the Mütek PCD the standard for charge measurements. The Mütek PCD-04 is also available with an integrated titration module – the so called Mütek PCD-04 Travel - for easy travelling and charge measurements onsite. Measuring Principle The aqueous sample is placed in the measuring cell and the pH probe is inserted. Once the PCD is turned on, the piston of the cell oscillates and causes a high flow rate. Any charged material adsorbed to the cell wall will be separated from its counter-ions by the flow to create a streaming current. Two electrodes in the cell pick up this current and display it on the unit next to the measured pH value. A poly-electrolyte of opposite charge is added until reaching the charge zero point. For isoelectric point detections, an acid or base is used to neutralize the charge. The Mütek PCD-04 should always be combined with the automatic titrator Mütek PCD-T3. Will not damage Delicate Film. Three models covering film from 0 to 500 microns. General Information The FT Air Cushion Head is able to operate on all those applications where conventional capacitive heads cannot operate or create problems. On stretch film, or where there is a sticky surface, it operates happily without any risk of tearing or sticking to the film. On high clarity film, where contact causes a visible defect, there is no contact and therefore no scratching. On films which have surface deposits which contaminate contact head electrodes, causing an eventual error, there is no problem as the deposits stay on the film. On film measured at high temperatures, there is no direct transfer of heat to the head electrodes because of the insulating effect of the air cushion. The cooling effect of air from the air cushion is very low, as the cushion pressure is very low and the air leaks away slowly. Therefore, the Air Cushion Head works well on sensitive film when a sudden temperature difference could cause a detrimental effect. General Features The Air FT Cushion Head is a non-contact head, specially designed for blown film thickness measurement. The FT Air Cushion Head uses the same capacitive technique as the standard FT head, but it introduces a small layer of air between the head surface and the film. This air cushion develops a natural pressure equal to that of the film bubble and is self regulating. The head construction differs totally from the normal FT head, having stainless steel electrodes with double skin for injection of air into the cushion. The measuring head is mounted on a pneumatic actuator, which lifts it off the film to zero itself in air. This keeps it stable in conditions of varying temperature. Because it is not in contact with the film, it is capable of measuring at higher temperatures than normal heads. An air pressure control system supplied with the Air Cushion Head filters the air, removes any oil and solid particles and regulates it down to very low pressure for direct delivery to the head. Installation The Air Cushion Head must be mounted in the collapsing frame, just before the nip, where it can measure round the bubble on any line fitted with rotating or reciprocating action from the die or nip. The measuring system can then synchronise itself to the rotation and give a profile thickness display, showing variation around the bubble relative to the die.
