Cabling will require some form of water blocking system when used in external applications or when used in both external and internal applications without jointing. This includes cables for telecom, power and industrial applications. When cables become damaged, water begins to enter the cable at the point of damage. Such water ingress into the cable is immediately absorbed by the OASIS SAF® water blocking yarns and/or tape technology, resulting in rapid swelling and gel formation by the OASIS SAF®. This water blocking gel prevents any further ingress into the cable.
For copper cabling, water can ingress into the cable by diffusion through the outer polyethylene sheath. This is a high risk occurrence due to the fact that such cabling is typically laid under ground in areas likely to be damp and wet. The presence of water will degrade signal strength due to capacitance changes.

The OptimAir 3000 is our standard version designed for a diverse range of applications. This version delivers 130 l/minute airflow and comes with a NiMH battery, battery charger and comfort belt. A large assortment of full face masks, hoods and visors are available to choose from. Three filters can be used in combination to give you five levels of protection.
OptimAir 3000 A
[ where high airflow is required ]
The OptimAir 3000 A delivers 160 l/minute airflow and is supplied with the OptimAir Mask [Advantage line] plus a decon belt for easy cleaning and decontamination to meet asbestos removal regulations [check local recommendations]. In addition, it comes with a NiMH battery, battery charger and one pack of ten particle filters. The unit has been designed exclusively for use with particle filters.

The OptimAir 3000 EX is fitted with ignition-proof components for use in potentially explosive [ATEX] areas and has the same features as the standard OptimAir 3000. It delivers 130 l/minute airflow and comes with a NiMH EX battery, EX battery charger, and comfort belt. Waterproofing geo-synthetic membranes function by initially absorbing water giving rise to swelling of the membrane. Swelling reaches a point at which the membrane becomes an impermeable barrier to water.
For geo-synthetic membrane waterproofing applications (e.g. land fill and reservoirs), the standard material used for is Bentonite Clay and is used as a Bentonite Clay Layer membrane (BCL).
OASIS SAF® can be processed into a number of different types of nonwoven and knitted composite fabrics which can be used as a water impermeable barrier layer. Such fabrics can be used in geo-synthetic membranes, and which offer a number of advantages over other traditional absorbent media:
